BlueCruise renewal.... free????

I was getting multiple notices that my subscription to Blue Cruise (and Navigation) were going to expire soon... so I clicked on the link to see ho wmuch Ford was gonna soak me for to continue two services I don't really use that much.

How about "zero"? I had a standard appearing "this is your amount due" page, with the amount due reading "$0.00"

And they actually made me put in my CC number and complete the transaction! And I got a nice message saying I would receive a receipt via email

What gives - has anyone else gotten a free renewal? Or did the webpage not display correctly and they're gonna charge me some stupid amount for the renewal?

Free? I got 50% off of blue cruise. I thought I was getting a deal!

Mine is free until March 2027. Last price I read was $50/month.

my 3 year free trial would have expired in September 2026 but just got the notice to sign up now and get another year for free! Not paying for the navigation because Google Maps works better, but I will take the free Blue Cruise!

I think everyone gets a 4th year free... I received the same message in July '25 for my '22 Lightning.

I checked and I got the same thing as well. 50% off for 3 months if I sign up on the monthly plan; 50% off the annual for 1 year if I sign up for that. I may get it for the year as I have a few long distance drives planned coming up. Definitely not as good as Free but better than full price. This price should be the new regular price!

This makes sense now. I didn't know until the other day WHEN exactly my build date was (1\2023 thanks to @TaxmanHog). In January of this year, I got the offer to extend for 1 year for $0. It's pretty useless to me 95% of the time, as I don't often drive interstate. I love how it works when I can use it, but not for $500 a year.

I kind of feel bad for Ford but they just aren't putting in the effort and work to make the feature compelling to pay for. If you want to collect subscription money on software, you kind of need to at least pretend you are going to act like a software company. Like phones, you need to support and update as much hardware as possible. Its been such a mish mash of vehicle models being on different versions... People are not going to go out and buy a new vehicle just to get the latest blue cruise so stop treating it that way. If I am going to pay for a service, I expect to be on the latest version. Then there is the "mapped roads" issue. Has Ford expanded the roads since they first started? Here in Canada, the "mapped roads" are little to none. Even if I wanted to pay and support BlueCruise, there is literally no roads for me to use it on.

Unfortunately for Ford, this needs to be free to all until they decide to get their act together and put some serious effort behind it. The way it is, people are starting to spread the word that it's worthless, and once it gets a bad name, it's hard to recover from.
