We had a lot of interest in this. They worked hard to figure out a bracket that was secure enough to allow the installation of the column shifter without having to replace the column.

We are working to have an optional Genie Maxx to allow mode selection from the plus and minus buttons that were for gear change. You would be able to scroll through modes or assign specific mode.

That will be after the initial conversion ships.

this is a good option versus the update to a Rotary Dial, but, regardless, if trying to justify either just to make use of the 'folding desk' option, you still have the same issues:

what to do with all that 'stuff', such, as water bottles, coffee mugs, etc, that are now going to still be 'in the way'.....

I’m about a week away from doing the dial upgrade, but if the column shifter is ever made readily available and affordable, I’ll serious consider it.

I want one of these, I will totally buy one if they're reasonably priced and maybe even if not, and I am hoping @Jesse-Infotainment gets a decent chunk of change for his work on this and all the other ways he helps our community.

What happens to the folding shifter when this is installed? Does it remain in place but become unusable, or do they both work (that'd be pretty weird, seeing it move when the column shifter is used to select a new gear!).

Only hitch for me is that I've needed one clock spring replacement already due to the "honking" problem and after a year, the "honk" has come back when turning the wheel at low speed so I know I'll need another. I hope this wouldn't make my dealership (who are really pretty good) not want to fix that as warranty work.

We would include the tub that the ICE trucks have when they come with the column shifter. Im sure we as a company would potentially buy the shifter back also.

As far as this.. Dealers will do what dealers do. We cant really give you an idea of what to expect.. they are so different from one to another. Ive seen some have no problem as long as that didnt cause the issue while some dealers blame oil leaks on screen upgrades.

Every truck I've owned had the column shifter including one old GMC 3/4T with a manual "3 on the tree" that loved to hangup if you shifted too fast. Along comes the Lightning with the sportier console shifter and I like it much better, gives me a place to rest my hand while driving lol.

I don't have the fold flat work space console lid so that isn't a consideration either. I suppose I'd buy one to replace the floor shifter if it was less cost than the rotary knob or a direct replacement floor shifter.

I guess you could call me neutral as far as any of them go so long as it gets me point A to B, the winner being the better made unit and of course cost.

If we put the shifter on the column then we may as well go all the way and remove the entire center console and put in a bench seat!
