2023 Tailgate on a 2024 Flash

My tailgate got damaged on my antimatter blue 2024 Flash. I found a replaced from a 2023 that was in front-end collision. Listed it has the step, camera, and remote release. Anyone know if this is compatible?

What trim level. I think the lariat and platinum are different from pro xlt

I was able to figure out the 2023 is the XLT trim

I don't recall if the Flash has the "signature light bar" on the tailgate. That light bar acts as reverse lights so tailgates are different shapes - there are wedges that cover up the reverse lights.

Pro/XLT - no light bar, straight tailgate
Lariat/Platinum - light bar - trapezoidal tailgate
Flash - ???

If your tailgate looks like this Lariat, then XLT won't work:

Good to know. The 2024 Tech specs says it does have it but again, I think others have mentioned it doesn't.

The only other thing is the Tech Specs and Order Guide both say the Flash has a powered up/down tail gate (which may also be wrong) while the XLT does not. So you would be missing that feature if indeed the Flash has it.

Sorry about ur situation, but this is very good to know. I had just assumed that the light bar was the only difference. Just looked at mine & it looks like when the gate is down, u can see the reverse lights from tail lights. But when the gate is up, then the light bar reverse lights are visible. Thx y’all

The tail lights are different too. Also related to the reverse lamps which are either flush or recessed because of the wedge. There are several threads on tail lights where you can see the differences.

My 2024 Flash does have the power up/down tailgate. I'm not really concerned about loosing that but thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks everyone who pointed out the potential issues here. I think it's a safe enough risk I'm going to try to acquire this tailgate and see if it will work. I'll try a direct swap first and then I'll see if I can take apart the old one and possibly swap the powered lift. I'll report back how it works out for the next poor person who finds themselves in this situation.

You can't make a non powered tailgate powered. They have different internal structure.
