My coolant overheated (right after starting on a 73 degree day parked in the shade)
Drove a few minutes all became normal. Happened once.

I keep getting a sensor [front]blocked issue (same sensor every time.) once or twice a day, or every other day. Vanishes like it was never there after 30 seconds.

The nav intermittently freezes- and doesn’t update current location. Unless you’re paying attention you’ll go right by where you’re supposed to turn. Has happened twice in a week.

The frustrating part? Every issue is intermittent. It will drive the dealership and any tech nuts guessing how to fix. I can’t replicate or duplicate any issue, and even though I’m taking it next week, I suspect it will be a complete waste of time.
I’ve never had issues like this in my Jag, Cadillacs, or Toyota’s. This truck only has just under 1k miles.

Check your coolant level, if you search on here you'll see reports of low coolant level, my lightning is two months old and it was extremely low (air in the system). My dealer topped it up for me no problem.

Had the dealer check out the front sensor issue, mine was random as well, they told me they can see a log of the errors and that it tied back to a bad module (hopefully), they ordered the replacement part but no ETA.

Ford's QC isn't great. Add coolant, replace sensor you'll be good to go.

I haven't heard of the Nav issue. Try a Sync reset and see if it's better. Hold down the volume down and skip ahead buttons on the steering wheel (outer bottom buttons) until the center screen goes blank and the reset begins.

If memory serves me well, it was a motor temp issue caused by a data-comm glitch in the system for most cases, but there is the rare opportunity that a sensor has actually failed, but that would be a persistent failure.

The front bumper sensor have been afflicting later 23 models, look for feedback in other threads on that topic or what @VTHokies gives when/if his gets fixed.

I noticed my 15.5" display flicker once yesterday afternoon while I was out & about, didn't recur, I haven't done the reboot, but might if I see it happen again.

Currently I'm at 6.5.0.

The biggest issue I had in the first 1500 miles was that the front sensor was "blocked" easily by snow and rain. I wonder if there ever will be an option for heated cameras that would eliminate this issue. The other "issue" is after two months, I still do not have any updates on my truck is leading to growing frustration with Ford. No regrets about purchasing the truck - it's great.

2000 miles on mine now. My front sensor blocked error came after getting a car wash a half hour earlier. After the truck sat and dried over the next day, it went away, hasn't come back yet.

I do get the nav screen freeze up intermittent too. Also had the entire screen lock up about 3 times since ownership, but after about 2 minutes it reboots itself and it's fixed on its own.

Minor annoyances, and hoping Ford puts out a software update to fix the issues. I'm just thankful I've had zero major issues, everything else works perfectly.

This is absolutely normal behavior from Ford. They don't put new vehicle VINs into the update rotation for a few months after production. My MME went 6 months before it started getting updates at a time when major changes with Sync4a were happening so I was straight up the Squidward mean of watching others have fun. Just relax and know that they will eventually start coming in, no reason to stress about it now, there's nothing you can do.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Is there another way to reset Sync ... it does nothing when I press the two buttons to reset ... have tried the btty discon as well. I seem to have lost many functions via FP.

Took my 2023 Lariat ER in for the FSA 23B57 and the front sensor issue (same for rain causing it it seems).
They tried to fix the sensor or run down the issue then called Ford engineers who told them it’s a known issue and expect a fix in “first quarter 2024.” So now I guess we wait….

I believe this is addressed here: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...programming-guide-using-fdrs.8249/post-359688

make sure your dealer knows there is a software update available for the front sensor. Not going out OTA yet that I know of.

I took the truck to the dealer.

They kept it two days.

Oddly- they said no codes for the sensor error and could not reproduce.
Naturally it did it on the way home from the dealer right after I picked it up.

I’m sure the techs had fun in their test drive. They used 5% battery for a 5 mile test drive.

Dealer was solid otherwise.
Very easy drop off- super fast included rental.
Great pick up.
They asked for a review. I texted a video of the failure with text letting them know it was still defective- no response as of yet.

I’ve emailed Ford Customer Relations the recent software update- hopeful they’ll come through.
