Hi all,

I just got a new recall for my truck today! It seems like I am getting a new reason to not sleep tight at night.

and the worse part is that it looks like is getting very common.
Here’s a video I saw when opened Facebook after getting this message on my ford app:

Anyone else with this new recall??

Is @Ford Motor Company ever giving us something nice we don’t have to worry about?

In the comments of the video, the owner states the back wheels were locked and slid. He said he has another camera angle.

I do not think the lightning has a parking pawl on the front axle. So I think this is just a case of sliding on ice.

Only thing I noticed is that the front wheels turn (can’t see the back wheels) and it looks like being plugged in kept it from rolling further! FCSP for the win!

I saw the recall notice.

My driveway has a slight slope - but so far my truck has stayed put, with or without the FCSP plugged in.

The Internet is loaded with all kinds of videos vying for attention, that's how they generate ad revenue and sponsors...so grain of salt on the ice.

I certainly did think about my sloping driveway when I saw that recall notice in the app - I put a couple of bricks under the wheels until the I get the letter that software is available for the fix and the recall is done.

When I worked for an electrical supply company in my 20's I was delivering to a job site and as I walked over to get a signature, I noticed a pickup truck starting to roll down a hill into the woods, I jumped into the front seat and pressed the brake pedal, then the put emergency brake on as well- the owner had just put it in 1st gear thinking that was enough - I convinced a bunch of redneck construction workers that guys with long hair are not so bad that day, lol.

Gravity is always something to be aware of.

Owning any modern computer with wheels is not for the fainthearted. There will always be glitches because, to err is human, but to really screw up...yes, you need a computer!

hard to keep 7000# still on a slippery slope. As for the Park issue, how about using your Parking Brake when you park on a hill?

My driveway has a 4° incline, when ever I pull in and put it in park, the parking brake automatically sets itself.

If there was ice under the rear wheels, it would still slide.

The pawl recall has to do with the parking brake I believe.
