My FCSP repeatedly stops (solid amber light) and restarts moments later, ramping up power as usual each time. My guess is it’s overheating, but I haven’t gotten wifi to my garage yet so the update can happen. Nor have I tried lowering the power setting. I just noticed this the other day, but it could’ve been happening since installation months ago.

it’s still significantly faster than using the mobile cord at 240v, but is it bad for the battery? Should I use the mobile cord until I can figure it out? And if it is bad for it, I’ve been charging with it for about 7,000 miles; how much damage could’ve been done?

What are the ambient temps in your area during charge time frame?

If you have a departure time, delete it, if you have a time limited charging scheme, delete that as well and recreate it. Hopefully it's just a corrupted schedule or the departure timer doing periodic testing until the ideal charging time frame is available.

If the problem persists, power off the EVSE at the circuit breaker, open the case and dial it back a notch or two, then see if that resolves the suspected overheating condition of the connector.

Temperatures when I first noticed it were in the 80s. It still continues, even though temperatures have been in the 60s and 70s, even into the 50s (I was hoping the lower temperatures would solve it). I don’t set a departure time. I do set a time to start charging to make sure the battery has had time to cool down (is that still a thing?)

Other than the max charge limit, there’s almost no aspect of L2 charging that will meaningfully affect battery health.

Some folks subscribe to that M/O.
