Hi all, the time has come where I need to change my brake pads. I wanted to see if anyone else had experience yet with the brake maintenance mode and make sure I am taking the right steps to put it into maintenance mode and take it out of maintenance mode. I think it is pretty standard for any f150 or expedition but wanted to confirm. I am especially interested in whether these are the right steps to exist brake maintenance mode on the lightening.
Entering Brake Maintenance Mode (Service Mode)
thanks!
Entering Brake Maintenance Mode (Service Mode)
- Ignition On: Turn the truck to the "On" position without pressing the brake pedal.
- Activate Controls: Press the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it.
- Engage Parking Brake: Push the electronic parking brake switch down and hold it.
- Cycle Power: While holding both the accelerator and parking brake switch, turn the ignition off, then immediately back on (within 5 seconds).
- Confirm Mode: The parking brake light will flash yellow, and a "Park Brake Maintenance Mode" message should appear on the dash, indicating the calipers are retracted
- Ignition On: Turn the ignition on (engine off).
- Activate Controls: Press the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it.
- Release Parking Brake: Pull up on the electronic parking brake switch (instead of pushing down) and hold it.
- Cycle Power: Turn the ignition off, then immediately back on (within 5 seconds).
- Confirm Exit: The flashing brake light will stop, and the message will disappear
thanks!
