I want to charge a 22 Lariat with std battery from my Tesla 48 amp Charger. I understand I need an adapter to plug into the lightning.

When I plug in will the Tesla charger just start or is there something else I have to do on the Tesla or Lightning side to make it start?

As long as you have the right adatper and the time is within the scheduled charging time you have set on the truck then the juice will start flowing.

I've got this setup, FWIW. Super simple.

Thank you I thought it might be something like that.

Yup. I have an adapter that works perfectly for sale. Tesla Tap Mini rated for 60amps continuous.

I charge with my Tesla Wall Connecter hard wired to a 60 amp breaker set to 48 amps output using this $54 adaptor. Works great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BZ4F3GM5/

I bought a 2nd one that I use at our cabin when charging with a Tesla MobIle charger at 30 amps. Also works great.

Another +1 for using a Gen 2 Tesla WC charing the Lightning. Using a Tesla Tap Mini.

It all just starts. The adapter works just like a Tesla adapter for a J1772, just in reverse.

I would recommend against the Lectron adapter. It’s cheaper and tempting but overheats for me and triggers the heat protection on my wall charger. I ended up buying a Teslatap.

Tried to save some money and ended up paying more in the long run…
