The harness is definitely won’t plug-in. They are entirely different. The part number above use is a four pin harness. The Ford lightning at least for the 2023 model has a six pin harness which also incorporates the side crash sensor.

I was installing a sound system, so I haven’t had a chance to mess with the other lighting, but I can also verify the same for the front doors as well as the rear.

Interesting, it may be that the ICE trucks are different - so may also not applicable to 2022's. I'll update post 1. Sorry about that.

@VoodooV4 were you ever able to figure out a way to use your assembly?

Sorry for the late reply.

Not yet to be honest. I was installing a sound system when attempting the doors so I figured i would get it done at the same time. I plan to revisit this at some point. Not only are the electrical connections different, but also the mounting points for the ambient light attachment screw holes are in different spots. Im most likely going to need to design something on my CAD program and 3d print. Will update within the next few months. Project is definitely doable.

Good info, thanks. I was about to go down the same path, I am thinking of upgrading my speakers and thought this would be a good opportunity to add in the ambient lighting since it was plug and play for the ICE Gen 14. I'm thinking maybe I should still just buy them and macgyver something...

Has anyone attempted this since the last post? I’m considering adding it to my ‘25 Lariat if it’s not recreating the wheel per se

Funny you should ask as I’m working on this as we speak. I’m running into the same issue with rear doors in that there is a crash sensor so the plug end is different. I’m wondering though would a platty from 23 have the lower ambient lighting because then we should be able to order those and be plug n play as a 23 should also have the added crash sensor. 🤔

So to add to this. I just finished doing both rear doors on my 23 lariat today. Had the same issue with the crash sensor so the connector was different as pictured above. Rather than losing money on the harness I had already bought as I had opened the bag before finding out the connector was different I went a different route. What I did was to just de-pin the original plug on the harness and then depin the new harness and plug those new ones into the original plug. The wire colors are all the same so it was pretty easy for that part. For the ground wires what I did was strip a little back on one of the ground wires and then solder in the 2 grounds of the new lights and then heat shrink that and re-wrap everything with Tesa tape. Almost looks like it’s never been touched. All the lights work as designed. Now I have to figure out the front lights as the part I got is incorrect. It does not have the little hockey stick part for the bottom.
