The 6.0 beta has been synced up with sunnypilot master as of 03.04.2026. Since this included some major updates to submodules, we have decided not to push it into bp-6.0-beta, because it could cause a failed upgrade. To move over the new beta, please uninstall and use the following URL:

installer.comma.ai/BluePilotDev/bp-6.0.1-beta

or

Did about 350 miles in my Lightning with BP 6.0 and was very impressed. Even smoother than 5.0 which I thought was great!

Since you drive a lot, what model and settings are you using (PC blend high/low, pid gain)

Did the BP Portal from 5.0 change? Was just looking at it on 6.0.1 and all I see is the Parameters page which is a pain to navigate.

I am curious why you choose OP Long over Ford ACC.
It seems to be a lot less reactive to people merging in front of you or turning. I generally use regular ACC since it likes to give random brake checks on a couple mile stretch on my normal route to work though.

The settings are in sunnylink now, so I didn't duplicate them in the bp portal.

Sunnylink is ok but has a lot of clutter. It connects but didn't appear to reflect some of the values set on the device. The good thing about the BP Portal was the ability to set favorites.

Sidenote I updated to 6.0.1 last night after uninstalling 6.0 and it seems to be stuck on the home screen that shows your trip info. Selected 22/23 Lightning under Vehicles but no change. Reset and same behavior. Didn't have much time to mess with it this morning but will poke around more this afternoon

The good news is, both versions are open source. You can port it yourself and submit a PR so everyone can enjoy it. Or, offer up a bounty to get someone else to do it.

It didn't get a crash report, so nothing is causing the inroad UI to not launch. Triple check all the usb plugs are tight. Mine was doing the same thing the other night and I realized the USB cable in my dock had started to deform and had shrunk back a little and it wasn't making full contact. I had to open the dock up and reposition the cable, and secure it with a little glue

Are you using ford ACC or OP long?
Can someone translate this question? :) What is "OP Long"? I assume "Open Pilot" but "Long?" What is "Long?" And "Ford ACC" is BlueCruise?

How do you "select" which one you want to use? Some of this MAY be obvious once I hook this thing up, but right now it's still on my desk waiting for warmer, 3M friendly weather. All these TLAs are messing with my head. :)

OP Long = Open Pilot longitudinal control - forward longitudinal control instead of side-to-side lateral control.. This is OpenPilot (or BluePilot (BP) or SunnyPilot (SP), etc...) control of adaptive cruise control. Also working towards ability to stop at red lights, stop signs, etc. Still considered "experimental".

Ford ACC = Ford Adaptive Cruise Control. Using Ford's built in adaptive cruise. Also called "hands-on bluecruise (BC)". The "hands-off bluecruise" is not used and not necessary to have when using a Comma. Minimum requirements to use Comma in Fords is ACC with lane centering ability. Lane keeping on most stock Pro and XLT trims will not work with a Comma without adding a radar module and some Forscan work.

Ford ACC is the default. When you set your cruise control with the Comma on and running, the Ford ACC controls the speed and the Comma controls the lateral control (steering) through the lane centering system similar to hands-off bluecruise, but much better and available on any road, not BC mapped roads only.

You select OP Long in the Comma settings by toggling on "experimental mode" in the Comma, then toggling on "OpenPilot Longitudinal Control". Different versions of OP/BP/SP have similar but slightly different locations in the Comma settings. Now when you activate your cruise control, the ACC portion is controlled by Comma, not the Ford.

--

EDIT - OP Long correction from @Ajzride :

You first tun on "OpenPilot Longitudinal Control" or "Alpha Long" (it depends on whether you are doing on your device or in sunnylink what the name is. I have a request to make the name consistent between the two). This gives comma control of the gas and brake, and it will operate like standard ACC. You can then turn on experimental mode, which adds stop signs and red light functionality (that works about 50% of the time).

--

Some prefer the Ford ACC better. I like Ford ACC and use it all the time with Comma controlling the lateral. Some prefer OP Long. It's your choice.

A draft owners manual is in the works. I'll suggest that there is a TLA translation page included ;)
