Once you order, I will get them assembled and request payment from the app you chose in the order forum. Total price will be $55 which includes shipping. Total lead time is going to be a week maximum before they are shipped. Should be more like 3 days, just don't want to oversell it.

pfft. reading an entire line is overrated. Ordered one just because. May just let it sit and look pretty on my desk.
I'm glad I put the extra time into the case design then :)

In all seriousness, thank you for the order.

I don't recall posting the final iteration of the casing on here. I believe the forum was down at the time. If you can read "Lightning" from left to right, you have the right orientation. If you have it turned over, the lightning goes towards the truck and the comma goes to the comma.

Would you say it'd be beneficial to grab one of these to replace one of the older breakout board style setups?

Yes, The breakout boards were a great low-cost way to prototype and validate the concept, and they’ve helped a lot of people get up and running. That said, they were never really intended for long-term use — they’re more suited for controlled bench testing, and they can be prone to issues in harsher environments like a vehicle interior.

The finished PCB was designed specifically for this application: it’s more robust, compact, and reliable, and it solves a number of small but important weaknesses in the breakout-based setup. While the breakouts cost around $1.25 each (before tax/shipping from China), that doesn't even cover the component cost of the production design. So for anyone who wants a more durable, plug-and-play solution, the finished version offers much better long-term peace of mind.

Yes, these are specifically designed for our use. The breakout boards are only designed for controlled testing, not long term or harsh environments
Heading out of town this weekend for vacation but will put a request through shortly.

Alan sent me a harness with a breakout board he assembled, so figured I'd ask!

Ah, you replied before I did the smart answer. But yeah, it is worth it for added piece of mind.

Just to clarify — if you’re currently using a harness mod (like a harness extension or added resistors wired directly into the harness), you’ll need to revert to the original OEM harness before installing this adapter. If you’re using the breakout board setup (the small USB-C box), this PCB is a direct replacement.

The reason is that combining this with a harness mod would introduce more resistors than intended and potentially create electrical issues. The new adapter already includes the proper termination and routing internally, so stacking additional mods can disrupt the intended behavior.

ServiceNOW is slow today, so I've been hitting refresh.

He sent me one of the newer OE harnesses that comma sends out after the harness extension I had done initially was giving some wild errors.
