Still no luck. Switched only the connector end, then the dock end so that both ends had been rotated. Then rotated the connector end back so that only the dock end was rotated and all 3 still gave the error
Based on what you are saying, it sounds like you may need a new cable. You can try going directly from the harness to your comma and wait for the startup errors to clear to verify.

Ugh. Thanks for all your help Tony. At this point, I think I might just return it. I'm still within the 30 day window and I don't want to sink more money into the process and potentially not even fix it. I'm also not a huge fan of the camera on the windshield and I think I've given myself enough time to give it a shot.

It's definitely a neat idea and for those who can get it to work error free, i'm sure it is a decent add-on but I'm not convinced its worth it for my driving style.

I'd hate for you to give up over a cable. You can get one on Amazon fast and fairly cheap and of course easy to return if need be.

Out of curiousity did you ever get a test rig 2024 model to help correct those year specific issues yet?

I didn't, I had a couple people reach out and offered to check, but nothing as of yet. I only had 2-3 people say they had issues after the coupler. So not sure if it is a fluke or going to be a more common thing.

Mine is still “lost” in the mail. As soon and I get it, I can install and see if I get the same results. I can’t wait to get rid of all of the errors and warnings when starting up. Loving my Comma so far!!
I'm amazed yours hasn't been delivered yet. I can look into a replacement if there still isn't any movement this coming week.

I ordered that cable. Should arrive today and I'll give it a shot. I was also occasionally getting a DTC for lost communication to the A/C compressor. I'll see if that clears with the new cable too.

If it seems like it's stuck somewhere file a https://missingmail.usps.com -- i've had to do this several times as of late and it seems like it kicked it back into gear.

I just placed a USPS Missing Mail request on the item. Lets see if that shakes it loose from wherever it is hiding!

New cable appears to have done the trick. I was able to get the comma to start up without errors on the dash and was able to clear all DTCs with forscan and my FordPass app is now clear as well. Thanks for the help.

I did snag a screen shot of the A/C DTC that was lingering if it might help you with diagnosing an issue but it might have just been due to the cable as well.

Hmm, if you are using the OBD power, unplug it from the harness box, clear the code and see if it goes away. You may not have AC with the error message.

Not using the ODB power. But I was able to clear the code once I had the new cable installed.

I just wanted to share the code with you because you mentioned wanted to look into the cause of it so I figured I’d grab a screenshot before clearing the code.

I appreciate it. As long as it is gone with the coupler installed, you are golden. That is the specific code that we've seen with all the 24+ models that have experienced the AC faults (in general).

If anyone with a 24+ lightning is having an issue with the AC AFTER they received the coupler (Temp fix or permanent fix) and are willing to work with me to figure out what is different than older models, I will provide a free coupler, or refund the cost of the adapter.

The theory at the moment is that the OBD2 port is at a different resistance than older models and the resistor isn't landing us in the right range with the comma power installed.

You would also need to be willing to test to confirm the fix is valid.
I just wanted to briefly comment on this. I had tons of issues with the AC at first with my 2024 lightning. I had try a ton of long USB C cables until I found one that worked. Eventually I got it worked out. I’m now currently using the one out of the F150 kit that comma sent once I got the new coupler. But that did not work prior to that. Another thing to note is that the couple that comes in the quick release dock will not allow my AC to work at all. I’ve always had to bypass it going directly into the comma.
