every time you reset your calibration your live delay starts over. It takes about 20 minutes above 50mph for live delay to calculate. Until live delay is established you can’t fine tune.

Does this need to be with BluePilot actively driving or just manual driving for the first 20 minutes?

Looking for some help because I’m officially stumped.

Spent way too much time this evening installing a Comma 4 + official Comma Q4 harness + BluePilot 7.0 on my 2022 F-150 Lightning. BluePilot installed fine, but every time the Q4 harness is connected I get “Unknown Vehicle Variant” on the Comma, along with a cascade of ADAS faults (AdvanceTrac, Steering Assist, Blind Spot, Pre-Collision, etc.).

I spent hours reseating connectors, flipping the Lightning coupler, reinstalling BluePilot, and checking everything I could think of. Nothing changed.

As a sanity check, I removed the Q4 harness completely and restored the factory IPMA connection. Instantly, all the truck faults disappeared, which makes me think the issue is somewhere in the Q4 harness/coupler path rather than the truck itself.

I’m hoping/assuming I’m overlooking something obvious before I start replacing hardware. Any ideas are appreciated.

The errors generally mean the coupler isn't being recognized afaik -- have you tried hooking the c4 up using only the short cable that came with it? When that worked for me I was advised to order a new long usb-c cable from amazon which resolved it for good.

Otherwise, I would advise sending @Ajzride a message for some troubleshooting help.

It's a poor connection or a bad cable somewhere. Just have to work through things one by one to figure it out.

As Shmoe said, start with just the harness, harness box, and short USB supplied by comma and see if you get errors.

If no errors, it's the long cable or the coupler.

Coupler is orientation specific, make sure the short cable going to the C4 is connected to the end with a comma logo. make sure the long cable going to the harness box is connect to the end with the lightning logo.

If coupler is oriented correctly, rotate the long usb cable one end at a time. If you still have issues, the coupler or the cable is bad. A new cable can be had overnight from amazon and returned if that wasn't the issue.

Installing that harness is easily the most difficult part of the system. Once you get that seated nicely it should be smooth sailing the rest of the way.

I recently bought a Comma 4 and donated the 3x to my wife's van. I was chasing my tail on errors and reboots. I switched the Long USB Cable twice, uninstalled and reinstalled BluePilot, and finally found the issue was the little 6" cable that goes from the coupler to the IPMA harness box. Replaced that with a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 cable and have had no issues since. I know that USB C should be reversible without issue but you can also (one at a time) try flipping the USB cable in each port. I recall someone else having that issue but that may have been related to the old Harness Extensions that @Ajzride used to make.

This is the cable (Short USB Cable) that got me back in business if anyone else is looking for a recommendation on the short USB cable between the Comma Harness and the coupler.

I successfully upgraded to BP 7.0, but when I click on the debug button, I see the curvature lines but the debug buttons are not there in the top right to be able to adjust anything. Comma 3x.

I've also noticed the Comma is barking at me about speed entering curves where it never had an issue before. Will adjusting the debug help with this and how do I get the adjustment on the debug screen?

That was it. I thought I had toggled it on but maybe missed it or accidentally toggled it back.

Now that it's on, will that reduce the nagging going into turns that didn't nag on previous versions?

Thank you. As a comma noob, this is the info I needed. I drove around for 40 minutes a couple days ago and never got the buttons to adjust the low speed and high speed adjustment factors to show up. Today I changed the Primary Control Variable to angle and voila! I did some tuning and it's pretty good so far, but it was getting late so I'll do more this weekend. Thank you Ajzride for all of your work on this project!

Got my comma dock today and at my desk the comma powers on fine with any USBC cable plugged into the main port. When I add it to the dock sled, it still powers on fine with same cable (Apple USB-c) but when the sled is put into the dock, it will no longer power up. I tried both the Apple USB-C and the long comma USB-c cable.

Is the 90deg adapter busted in the dock?

It's definitely allergic to apple usb-c cables, I can tell you that much.. putting them anywhere in the mix makes weird things happen. And you won't get it to power up with the coupler in any configuration but inside the truck.

Why won't it power up in the dock at my desk? I tried 3 different branded usb-c cables and when the Comma4 is in the dock, it won't power up. This is expected behavior?
