My F150L got some issues with trailer brake controller and powertrain warnings

Taking to the dealer to get it fixed along with some other CSP items (12v sensor, heated steering wheel, lightbar, dash mat)

Left the vehicle with dealer for 2 days, and today got a call that the vehicle is ready to pick up
however, they need to charge me 1h of labour due to 12v has only 20% left due to hardware dashcam (which has low voltage battery cut off set to 12.2V)
and he had to "spent 1h to charge the battery" to run the upgrade.

also he mentioned due to the hardware dashcam, he needs to charge me to replace the brake controller due to caused by aftermarket accessories (the hardware dashcam), I'm like ??? (huh?)

do i just got scammed by the dealer?

Should I find a manage when i go to the daelership later today?

Thanks!

spent 1h to charge the batter
Did he just stand and watch it while it charged? Was he charging it by running on a hamster wheel?

Yes, these cameras don't use any more power than the aftermarket camera that Ford sells and will install for way more money. Don't let them tell you that this is worth an hour of labor, they're just daring you to call them on it.

Ford F-150 Lightning Dealer charged me for warranty due to hardwired dashcam 1713472642897-n9

Got the charge waived
The technician needs more training. The ProPower is not even from 12V, it's inverter from HVB, dashcam wont affect it.
He claimed the dashcam kills the alternator, but there is no alternator in the lighting...
There is TRM config issue seems causing the trailer issue, but since my visit has so many items, the tech just leave the door open and killed the 12v, and there is no way I pay for those 1.2h charge for charging the battery!

One would question if this dealer should even be servicing the truck. They don't seem to know anything about it.

The dealer is right, the dash cam destroyed the transmission, bent the driveshaft, and probably rounded the camshaft but you won't know that until the next oil change. Shame on you for treating your truck so badly! You probably don't even tune the carburetors do you?

That entered my mind when I read the original post.

It seems to me that Ford has a list of tasks with a "time to complete" value, but no "actual labour needed value". For many things, these are probably the same, but with today's technology, more and more things only require a minimal amount of physical labour while the car does the rest. Charging a battery is something that has been this way since they were invented.

I recently needed to get a TCM update for my Focus Electric that should have need done OTA after several features were lost when a modem upgrade came with buggy TCM software. The dealer had to charge $160 for it (which I'm going after Ford for). I suspect the update took an hour, but only required five minutes or less to launch and another five minutes to check at the end.

I'd get a new dealer,
Most of the dealers in Toronto are hating EV
Now I think I need to find a new job in USA to have a better EV experience, hey, there is no lemon law in Canada! and there is no way to drive an EV cross Canada today (except Tesla, other third party DCFC either super low <50kwh or broken)

Well a hardwired dashcam is add on electrical equipment and that is specifically mentioned in all vehicle warranties. And if it is powered all the time it will run down the small 12v battery that these trucks have and could potentially cause issues. And running a 12v battery down to 12.2v is really bad for the battery. I could see them refusing to cover a 12v battery replacement.
With my last f-150 I just removed the hardwired dash cam when I took it in the shop for warranty work
