I recommend that you head over to the FORScan thread, read through that, and then start with something simple that doesn't require making hardware changes to your truck. I don't recommend making any ACC-related changes until you've actually made the required wire and module upgrades.

Also, make sure you're backing up your existing settings.

Kudos for researching this before making changes. I looked at my database of other Lightnings. And like you, I see that many of the XLT 311A trims do have a "1" in that position. But others have a "0". This is true for model years 2023 and 2024. Interestingly all 2025 XLT's have a "1".

However, for one of the 2024's I had two snapshots. And it's value changed from a "0" to a "1" earlier this year. So I pulled in refreshed data for the other XLT's that previously had a "0" and they are now "1" also! So they have all received an update this year that changed that value.

My feeling is that this was previously an unused bit but now Ford appears to be using it for something. That's why it's not documented in the spreadsheet I guess; it's a new parameter.

So if instructions say make a "0" an "8", then it really means "add 8 to the existing value". So you make your "1" a "9".

Thank you for looking out for me. I am currently investing time in capturing current values of my truck and what potential values i need to change.

Also looking at tutorials to understand how to take backup.

So what that means is that is if you want to add another option that says make a "0" an "8", then you need to add 1 (make it a "9").
Thank you Sir. Appreciate your help on this one.

They say it doesn't fit because your trim level/VIN doesn't have this option. You are adding something to the truck that is not supposed to be there.

Please read or at least skim the entire thread. I promise that almost all of your questions have been answered and will give you a much idea of what you are getting yourself into.

I can't speak to the switch or harness because I opted to not install those but I used the sensor you tried to order and it works on my 2023. It looks like the harness part number is just yearly iterative version (M->N). Bolt is the same part number. What's interesting it that it looks like they're specifying an older versions of the switch and sensor, but maybe I'm not deciphering the model numbers correctly.

You may want to get a second opinion on those suggestions.

I'm not sure on the cruise switch, as I swiched out the entire steering wheel so I could have a heated one, but the fog lamp assembly bolt is the same, the wire parking distance aid is the same, and the distance sensor is the same as my Pro. I would assume they don't know what they're talking about, or these are updated versions maybe.

I ordered everything from the first post from the same place listed in this post. They might be telling you that it doesn't fit because it's not supposed to be on an XLT if those are the same part numbers that you ordered.
https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...keep-alert-to-2022-f-150-lightning-xlt.14870/
Sensor Assembly: ML3Z-9E731-G
Mounting Bolts(3x): W720714S450B
Wiring Harness: ML3Z-15K867-NA (don't order)
Steering wheel buttons: ML3Z-9C888-D

You might want to look at the other wiring harness that somebody listed if it worked for them because I had to do some splicing on that one I wouldn't order that one again if I had to re-do it
