It feeeeels brand new! (which is hilarious because it's still a 2021 with only 5000 miles)
My daughter thinks I have lost my mind because I'm trading the truck in as soon as my special order arrives. But that can take months! And besides, the next fella that owns this one will inherit a perfect truck.

And now that I have crossed that FRDS and Forscan bridge, I gotta admit that it ADDS to the enjoyment of owning one of these crazy computers on wheels.

One final piece of advice. Do another network scan tomorrow in FDRS. There is another APIM update that should come down. It’s a small one that doesn’t require a flash drive.

You should have more time on the clock than that. When I activated my two-day license, it was more like three days. I got the day of activation plus two more days. Expiration appears to be tied to the date, not the time.

The APIM update to the update was a surprise. I didn’t know it was there. I just did a last-minute network scan before my license expired and it showed up. No voodoo guru Jedi stuff for me. If your looking for sorcery, that’s Jesse and Iceman territory.

As you know, those two updates are there even if you have already applied them. (twice ?)

Thanks for confirming the GSM and ABS updates not clearing for you either.

Now that I think about it, the APIM update showed up about two days after I did the first update. It will probably show up tomorrow. Might not help you right now. You can catch it next time you decide to punch into FDRS.

One question I do have is within FDRS my APIM update won’t run either… nothing displays on the screen… not even the “Do Not Remove the USB” warning screen your supposed to get. Not even after 1 hour of the vehicle running.

I did get update 1.6, then 1.4 automatically via the FordPass app notification about a month ago. I believe the 1.7.1 failure applies to me with not being able to select auto update or schedule updates etc.

What were the file names in your USB key made from FDRS? Mine have “14” in the name. Is this supposed to reference like ver. 1.4 in all of them??

I have the same. GSM module updated successfully, yet it wont clear in FDRS. I strongly believe its a bug on FDRS or Ford’s database side

I noticed that your APIM update has a little bit different file manifest than mine. I would assume since FRDS reads the onboard APIM first, and then downloads the proper Payload for the update, that your truck requires a bigger jump than mine?

My truck had received the 2.1 OTA before I did the FRDS. I might have successfully gotten the 2.3 OTA if I were patient enough?

If you recently updated your TCU and APIM, with APIM (SYNC) version showing 21283 rev244, you are running 2.3.0 OTA equivalent software

Ya, my update package ended up being about 3.8GB.

That would be 21146 rev145 (or OTA 1.7.1 equivalent). In my opinion, this is the hardest obstacle, to get this APIM update kick off. Once this update installs, its easy-breeze to install any subsequent updates
