Is there any way to make headlights turn on with welcome lighting?

well... I did some forscan mods on my 24' flash, including silent mode, adaptive headlights, and turned off ding ding ding on door open.

after those changes no DTCs. but weird things happening. When I turn off my truck, instrument panel goes black immediately, then restarts immediately. all the "my settings" are cleared every time i start the truck and i have to change what i want such as trip 2 and driver assist page.

also Ive head a few service vehicle soon prompts and "frunk ajar" when I turn on the truck. also had the truck shut off immediately when truck on and plugging in to charge at dc charger.

I reviewed all the forscan changes, and I dont seen anything obvious to be the issue or any errors.

any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds like a low or dying 12 volt battery to me. Possibly exacerbated by performing the Forscan changes in accessory mode.

WELL you were RIGHT.
my 12 volt was at 10.8 V... how the heck it was that low but still functioning some is mind blowing.

my battery is only 1 year old too... wonder if FORD will replace for free? I put in another H3 I had laying around, now everything is just as it used to be.

Thanks so much for that thought!

also, anyone every bought a lithium 12v that they love?

Check with your dealer for a warranty replacement. Don't tell them you were using ForScan.

If the old battery holds a charge and just died from being in accessory mode, they might deem it as still "good" and send you on your way.

It's worth a try though as it should be covered under your warranty if it doesn't hold a charge, assuming you are still in the bumper to bumper time/mileage.

If the the battery doesn't charge while your truck is "on" (not accessory mode), there may be other issues like a DC-DC converter problem, that warrants a service visit for sure.

Any different chemistry battery is generally not recommended based on what I've read here and the Mach-e forum due to the BMS not being made for the different charging and use curves.

Thanks for all that. Ford is going to bench test the battery and see whats up. will replace for free within 3 years they stated.

Hello All,

Just want to thank everyone for this extensive topic and effort to get everyone's questions answered!

I have a couple questions that I didn't see anyone else ask previously:

1: Is there a way to modify BC to allow for higher speed than 80mph?
2: Is there a way to either remove the speed limiter or increase it?
3: Disable "transmission not in park" chime when door is open?

I live in the expansive state of Wyoming and distances traveled between towns is vast and the speed limit is already 80mph and while I of course would never exceed that posted limit it sure would be nice to be able to use BC beyond said speed limit for passing etc.
I realize that I could adjust tire size to fool BC into thinking I'm only traveling at 80mph but then the other concern of needing to pass people rapidly without being able to adjust the top speed limiter could cause issues.

Any assistance/thoughts would be appreciated.

I tried some settings with the LDCMA/B modules to try to get headlights to come on with the welcome lighting.

Livinitup's spreadsheets mentions this:

283
6F6-04-08xxxxxxx*xx--0 =LBWFE Welcome/Farewell Disabled1 =LBWFE Welcome/Farewell Enabled
2816F6-04-08xxxxxxxx**--WStartDelay_LowBeamCfg (WSDLBC) • Milliseconds = Hex2Dec(**)
2826F6-04-09**--FStartDelay_LowBeamCfg (FSDLBC) • Milliseconds = Hex2Dec(**)

I tried the enable bit with 00ms delay... nothing.

Maybe the firmware on the headlights doesn't support it?

Hi all,

Thanks a lot for all the great sharing here – the thread and the Excel sheet overview are super helpful!

I just got my 2024 Lariat and managed to tweak a few things with Forscan:

  1. Enabled glare-free headlights
  2. Removed MPH display when activating km/h (now only km/h shows, IPC 720-04-02)
  3. Disabled seatbelt chime and door ajar warning
  4. Set EU traffic sign recognition + round speed limit icons in the cluster. (IPMA, 706-04-01)
  5. Changed APIM country code to Norway, so I also got Norwegian language on the screen

Pretty happy with that!

Two questions:

  1. If I activate “automatic lane change” in the menu, lane center assist stops working – is that expected behavior in Europe, or something odd with my config?
  2. I purchased and activated the EU maps subscription in the app (after swapping the TCM, so the truck is online), but the truck still says maps need activation. Any tips?

And finally, are there any specific Forscan settings I should avoid changing to make sure OTA updates keep working? Or any tips on more to change to get better functionality in Europe?

In regards to this, it will not work over there. I have tried many times with the Mach E's to get lane change to work over there, but the changes that work for US vehicles do not work over there. It could be that the software in the GWM does not support lane change, or the IPMA software for Euro spec vehicles does not include the events for lane change assist. Or, it could be something else. I don't know why it won't work over there, but AFAIK, it is not possible. At least not yet.

Definitely different. Here is mine:
DSP - (Audio) Digital Signal Processing Module
Bus: HSCAN3
Part number: ML3T-18B849-AJ
Calibration level: ML8T-18B849-AD
Strategy : ML8T-14C589-AD
Noob on FORScan here. How do you find this info you posted about DSP Module Strategy using FORScan? Thanks.
