@21st Century Truck Tried this over the weekend. Switched both to the "Ford" option. Still does not work. I cleared my DTCs and the only remaining were for both the PDM and DDM:

Code: B1166 - Right Front Puddle Lamp Output
Additional Fault Symptom ( :15):
- Circuit Short To Battery Or Open
Status (-48):
- Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC
- Test not complete
Module: Passengers Door Control Unit

Code: B1165 - Left Front Puddle Lamp Output
Additional Fault Symptom ( :15):
- Circuit Short To Battery Or Open
Status (-48):
- Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC
- Test not complete
Module: Drivers Door Module

Does the AS BUILT option make a difference? I can't recall which one I made the edit to off the top of my head, but there were several options for both the PDM and DDM.

Any other ideas?
I assume that You bought power-folding mirrors off EBay etc. I'd like to see their white paper Ford tags which list the new mirrors' functions.

The DTCs list an open or missing electric circuit.

These white function tags are on each mirror's foam inner (vehicle-facing) surface. Perhaps You can also grab them off the seller's listing images.

I bought a set of cheap manual fold knock-offs from eBay. I used various parts from them to retrofit my existing mirrors, including some of the wiring. Everything I added to my mirrors works fine except for the puddle lamps.

Edit: I have tried two different sets of puddle lamps and neither worked. That’s why I think it is a wiring issue (are pins 12 and 14 correct?) or a programming issue.

The existing harness in my doors had the exact number of wires and in the correct pin locations for everything I added.

Oh I see.

Yeah these big mirror housings are a bit like a LEGO set.

In Your case, my hunch would now focus on a faulty wire connection somewhere.

Good Luck!

Based on what I see, there is a VT-GN wire from the Driver Door Module C501B pin 12 to LH Mirror C521 pin 14. Passenger side is similar except wire is BN-YE. You have those?

And also the ground for each.

Hmmm, I don't have the puddle lamps connected to a ground pin. I'll look into that and report back.

I'm assuming the ground pin doesn't matter? Either C521 pin 20 or 22?

Both wires from the light need to be connected. For ground, my wiring diagram is showing puddle connects to pin 8 but 20 and 22 are also both labeled ground. All three are black wires.

When you said you only saw 2 Volts was the black wire on your voltmeter connected to a proper ground?

Thanks for the help, y'all. I figured it out. I had the wiring wrong. I disconnected the wire on the puddle lamp from pin 12 and ran a spare pigtail I had from the puddle lamp to one of the grounds and the puddle lamp came on. Now I just need to take off the mirrors and correct it officially. Looks like either pin 8, 20, or 22 will work for the ground wire.

Now that it has been verified to work, I've added to post 1. Thanks to Jesse and all the folks who tested it.

Enable Pro Power Onboard with truck off (2022-2023 only. Standard on 2024+).
Creates a Sync toggle in the Pro Power settings screen. See this post.
7D0-10-03 xxxx xx2x xx--
7D0-10-04 xxx* xxxx xx--
If 0, change to 8. If 4, change to C. If 6, change to E
If you enabled the Advanced Charging Screen, you likely have a 6.
Requires truck to have 2025 PCM update and likely Sync version 25094.
Well, just tried this on my 2022 LER and I get the ON/Off toggle, but it won't stay on. From what I can tell I should have the latest updates as it got BC 1.4 last month and several other updates mentioned by masses. My 7Do-10-04 was set to 4 & changed to C, only change I made.

You need powertrain update that has not been released OTA yet.

when it comes out it will likely be the 10.3.0 OTA update

Got 10.3.0 back in Feb 2025:

Software Update 10.3.0
02/25/2025
Powertrain Software Updates

As a part of this update, you will notice:

• We’ve squashed some bugs that presented unnecessary warnings on your instrument panel

• Improved the electronic parking brake software for more consistent performance

• Increased the charging rate at DC fast chargers

Additionally, you may see an impact to your Charge Settings being removed including your charge preferences and pre-saved locations.

If you have NOT received the update, please take the following steps:

1. Unplug your vehicle during the scheduled update

2. Once you have received the update, reapply your charge settings via your in-vehicle settings

If you have received the update and were charging or notice your charge settings have been erased, please take the following steps:

1. Delete your vehicle from the FordPass app (this will remove your Phone as a Key)

2. Add your vehicle back to the FordPass app

3. Follow the Ford authorization / activation instructions

4. Re-apply your charge settings and any other connectivity feature settings that were lost

Hmm I figured 10.3 would cover it. There was a set of powertrain updates a few weeks ago. The ability to work seems to be based on the PCM.

I have the the same problem you have the PPO stay on switch won’t stay on. But I haven’t received 10.3.

The 2022 LER seems to have gotten all the updates out there over the last 10 months or so: BC 1.4, faster DCFC schedule and other bells & whistles. I've done the Glare-free, seatbelts, and all the Camera mods on Page 1, to both this truck and my 2023 LER. The 2023 LER hasn't gotten an OTA since March when BC 1.4 tried to load and failed. I have forgotten to put a trickle charger on it a couple of times when I leave it for 2-3 weeks at a time & come back to find the LVB at 45-65 SOC and figure that's part of the problem. I've finally found a trickle charger that works on the LVB - an aircraft GBM maintainier that will 13.5-14 volts and maintains it at 100 SOC

Mine does the same thing of not staying latched. I have rec'd most OTA's, BC 1.4, etc. as well. I did not get 10.3.0. The last time my PCM was updated was last November when the dealer did some CSP's (Charge Cord Stuck, Front Parking Sensors).

Mike G posted that a PCM update became available in FDRS in March - I think that's the one we need. There has since been another one recently.

I'm currently on PCM software NL3A-14C204-BCZ as the latest from October.
