Ya he never said how he did it. I figured out he just used the forscan ICE spreadsheet by enabling cameras at speed which my vehicle already has. Not sure if it’s the 24’s or all lightning’s have that now and then he enabled rock crawl cameras.
Thanks for checking. Is this the change you made to get front cameras:
Enable OffRoad (Rock Crawl, Mud/Ruts, and Deep Snow/Sand) Front Camera at Speed
IPMA 706-02-02 xxxx xx03 xx--

I think an OTA may have given us cameras at speed (and the 2024's likely already had it). When I look at the values in the spreadsheet for cameras at speed, the values are different than what I and most other trucks have - yet we have cameras at speed. I'm going to remove that to-do from post 1.

so in order for me to get front cameras at speed to work I had to change the values for cameras at speed and change the values for rock crawl mode front camera in order for front camera at speed to work, which is weird because we already have cameras at speed. But when you enable it it’s very glitchy. When I have it enabled whenever you start the vehicle it defaults to the front camera screen, and you have to dismiss it and when you go from reverse to drive, it doesn’t dismiss the camera automatically you have to dismiss it yourself.

Yeah, that seems to be the same experience the other guy had. Seems more for the big-time off-roading crowd and not for us. I can see where they would want it to pop up automatically.

I wish we could do it like the GM trucks have it. It will switch between the front and rear camera depending if you in drive or reverse and then will turn off once you reach a certain speed. I really miss that from my sierra

The closest that I have found is "Prevent headlamp switch from defaulting to Auto position (2021-2025)" listed on the common tab of Livnitup's spreadsheet. The headlights will start up where ever you left them.
@K6CCC This is the change from the spreadsheet. Let me know if it works for you and I'll add to post #1:
726-74-01 xxx* xxxx xx-- change 0 to 1
Thanks to both of you. That should accomplish the desired result. I spent a while looking at Livnitup's spreadsheet, but it's a bit overwhelming!
I will hopefully plug that in today if/when I feel up to it (enjoying my annual case of tonsillitis).

Get well soon.
FYI, the setting is under the BCM module (in FORScan, it is called BdyCM).

That worked. The important part for me is that I could turn the lights off and they would be off at next startup. It appears that it is not capturing the state when you turn the truck off, but what state you left it in. The one I did not really test is if I left it in parking lights and closed and locked the truck, I assume at some point the lights would time out and turn off (like essentially all newer vehicles). Would it come back into parking lights on next startup? I did not want to wait long enough for it to time out.

Worked fine. Headlights were off when I turned on the truck this morning.

Thanks.

I searched but couldn’t find this.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to change the startup chime sound?

I test drove a platinum today and I noticed that it has a different startup sound than the XLT and Flash do. The one on the platinum sounds more “modern” than the classic Ford ding ding ding on my truck. I’m wondering if I could change it using FORScan?

The chime is probably the one that is due to starting the truck without the seatbelt buckled. I personally found it annoying (I buckle up after first starting).

It can be disabled - see post 1 about Switching to the European seatbelt stategy. Cheaper than buying a Platinum.

I now have peaceful bliss when starting the truck. Until the parking sensors go crazy in my tight garage.

I also did this mod. Like it and recommend it.

Thanks. I saw the post about disabling the chime but I was curious if it could be changed. I know in the ICE trucks the software keeps the splash screens for all the different trims available and you can change them from the 75th anniversary over to the Raptor one, etc. Just wondering if this noise could be changed similarly.

Some folks have complained that their "startup chimes" changed - instead of a nice tone from the front speakers, it starts coming from the instrument cluster speaker with poorer quality. Or maybe it's a difference between a Platinum and a Flash.

Maybe that's the difference you are hearing. I'm not sure folks resolved the front speaker vs IPC issue other than maybe it was due to a low 12V battery. I can't point to a specific thread but I know it's been discussed.

Just to confirm it's the seat belt chime we're talking about and not some other "startup sound" associated with a splash screen, start your truck with and without your seat belt buckled to verify we're discussing the same sound.

In my view, an unwanted sound at startup (whether melodic or not) is still unwanted. And folks need to stay off my lawn. :)

Yes, it’s definitely not the IPC/APIM speaker difference because I’ve had that issue before in the past. It was a distinctly different tone between the XLT and Flash I’ve driven vs the platinum. I wonder if Lariat could be the same as plat? Never driven one before.

I modified the first post to indicate Beosonic may only work for Platinums with B&O Unleashed. I also did not notice any difference in sound on my Lariat.

@mrau, I added the auto relock mod as well. Thanks!
I think this is the case. So I had help from @21st Century Truck in activating this mod, and the sound was instantly better. While I don’t have the color wheel, if I turn the volume up to about 11 and press the Beosonic button, I can definitely tell that there are preset changes to the equalizers - some highlight background vocals, some focus on the music, and some change the speaker focus. Not that I have the best ears, but as far as I can tell, there are 4-5 different presets pressing that button. The one thing I did notice is that each time I start the vehicle, I have to go press the Beosonic button to “activate” it. It’s very hard to tell on XM music because of the compression, but on downloaded “hifi” Spotify songs, the quality difference to me is noticeable.

This is all anecdotal of course. I could just be hearing what I want to hear.
