Ah, I just remembered this is for the APIM so I believe all you are doing here is enabling/disabling the visibility of the toggle switch in Sync. Not actually disabling DAS or Courtesy Wipe. I,e,. we are making the Welcome Light toggle visible along with the already visible Courtesy Wipe and DAS.

For example I have my welcome lighting toggled off but my value here is still a 7 because I still want the toggle to show. Hope that makes sense. I still left it as "add 4" with the "3 to 7" example just in case.
Ah, yes. You're right. Welcome Lighting was working before I made the APIM change to enable the toggle.

Got a forscan question. Been driving some in Sport mode now and kinda like it. Problem is that it won't stay on. It gives an option at next start up to stay on with the default being no, but when I try to change it, then the wife opens her door, android auto boots up, or something happens and it goes away. Then I have to do it manually and usually while driving cause I'm already in reverse backing out of the driveway.

Is there a way to change it in forscan? Either change the default to yes on the question, do away with the question so it stays in sport until changed, or whatever? If I go into one pedal and toggle it on, it stays that way. Chances are I would probably drive in Sport mode and one pedal most of the time although I haven't tried it yet. Thanks.

No way to change. Oft requested feature to stay in sport mode. You’ll find whole threads on the subject.

For your 2025, it’s sticky for 4 hours, everyone else, not so much. Here’s one post of many.

Gracias, kemo sabe. At least mine will stay in Sport if I catch it quick enough to answer Yes. So Brian must have fixed Chris's problem with an update.

Nah, not yet on my truck at least. From what I can tell, when the LVB gets low, it 'fixes' possibly due to a module cold boot. Forcing a cold boot like when removing the 12v power is, at the moment, the only guaranteed solution. All other methods I've tried have been one offs.

This is one of the best investments I have made for my truck. I'll disconnect the battery in my truck 1-2 times a month just for the hell of it even if nothing's wrong.

A 20 minute 12v disconnect does wonders for these Sync 4 vehicles......probably all new vehicles in general The techs at the Jaguar/Land Rover dealer I work at now do this all the time to address little quirks.

That's hilarious , never even thought about an actual disconnect, every time I look at my panel array I've thought using the resettable fuse/breakers to cut it off.

So if I go out and disconnect the battery ground cable for 20 minutes, what will that get me for the health of the truck? Just a matter of reaching in through the frunk and unbolting it. Thanks.

Unless you're currently encountering gremlins, nothing significant other than a functional return to sport pop up on the 25s, at least temporarily.

I received the SYNC 25.2.1.6.5 OTA in late November 2025. On the linked thread there are now two of us that have enabled glare free where the toggle has either been removed (@novosilicon ) or is now greyed out in the off position (me). Even though my toggle is off and greyed out, the glare free still works like normal. I only noticed the greyed toggle while I was looking for something else.

Seeing if there has been anyone else that has noticed any issue with their glare free operation or the toggle after they received this OTA or updated through FDRS.

I haven't checked to see if anything changed in Forscan yet because everything is still working. I don't want to "fix it 'til it's broke" if you know what I mean.

Bill, you won’t break anything by just reading the values. I would look at the IPMA values to start If your toggle is there but not working. If the toggle disappeared then the APIM would be suspect.

After the sync update, I noticed speed limit recognition stopped working. That update turned it off, so I had to go back in and turn it on again via the menu. I did a look at the rest of the settings and did not see anything else changed. I still have Glare Free. I also didn't see where this update did anything.

Update: This morning I drove the kids to school and checked my settings page...the glare free toggle is back to normal and toggled on...weird. Truck off in the garage for 12 hours is the only difference from last night. I guess this is just one of those expected Ford/Forscan mod oddities. Still unknown if the recent OTA had anything to do with this.

Has anyone tried using AI, like chat GPT, to figure out the missing pieces? Like propulsion sound, etc.

I have dabbled in it, but so far was unimpressed. Frankly, it was far too confident without ever having seen things like the livingitup sheets.

I have been wanting to reformat those sheets and try again. The difficulty will be that there is too much info in the entire workbook for a generic LLM to reference. Maybe a good RAG, but I dont mess with those much at home.
