Reminder -- IF Ford reaches 200K EV/PHEV sales before 2023, there will be a gap for Q3/Q4, 2022 purchase not having any tax credit ($0 instead of $7500) until Jan. 1, 2023.
The article says .....
== Quote ==9/2/2022 ========
So far this year, Ford sold over 36,000 all-electric vehicles (up 94% year-over-year).
BEV sales in YTD:
  • Ford Mustang Mach-E: 25,765 (up 49%)
    • Ford F-150 Lightning: 6,842 (new)
    • Ford E-Transit: 3,938 (new)
    • Total: 36,545 (up 112%)

My understanding is that the quarter in which they reach 200K and the following quarter will still get the full tax credit. Then the phase out begins. But, the new tax credit law will take effect rather than the phase-out.

Somehow $65,000 for a Lariat ER is easier to mentally handle for me than the full $80,000 (I live in MA that has an additional $7500 rebate, so a total of $15,000 for me)

I will find the link and post it here. There is a thread on here about it.

Ok, at first I thought the implication was that the article said this incorrect thing which was surprising - now that I’ve thumbed through the article I understand it was a forum commentary saying the incorrect thing which is not surprising

Aren’t we still waiting on “guidance from treasury” and/or additional info from Ford re battery mineral sourcing requirements and battery assembly location though?
Those could make or break the federal tax credit after 1/1/2023.

yes but separate issue - present thread was instead about whether the old tax regime with unit cap might expire for Ford before 1/1/2023

which prior law’s cap will not expire for present tax credits (for Ford Lightning) before 1/1/2023

Welcome fellow MassHole

Read up here MOR-EV Trucks | MOR-EV

I hope you ordered an ER truck with out All Season tires, these are crucial conditions to qualify for the credit

PS The retail version of the 2023 Lightning Pro [SR] will not qualify
Thank you 😆 love your welcome response, and proud to be a fellow Masshole. I will check out the thread. I’m guessing I won’t qualify due to GVRW 8250. But will try to apply anyways. In the Mor-ev list of qualifications, it does say rebate determined by case by case basis. So imo, worth a try since my ev Lightning is commercial registered business. I’ll plead my case.
