I read the thread. I can wire an outlet and a switch, but the conversation is over my head. I bought a chord to plug into my 220 Ev charging outlet. I tried disconnecting the ground and then the bonding wire. The truck would not supply power. I also have solar panels that are on a 220 switch in my breaker box. I wonder if had anything to do with it?

I don't know why you are talking about a cord and an EV charging outlet.

You asked about Generlink. Yes, a Lightning can use it with their special cord.

If you want to do it yourself, the 30amp outlet can connect to a generator plug, with the ground disconnected on the cord, just fine.

You're trying to use your EV charging outlet as input to your panel. No interlock, so no way to ensure that the mains are disconnected. Very dangerous. With the main breaker off, and the ground disconnected on the cord, it should work fine. I have no idea what your solar panels do to the equation.

I just noticed we have the same vehicles. I have the same truck, silver. I just bought a Premium Mach-e 2025 ER, white. I traded my Tesla Model 3 in for it.
Thanks for the reply. I never tried or used an interlock.

If you're trying to backfeed power into your house through your EV charging outlet and disconnecting bonds, please just stop what you're doing and call an electrician before you kill your self and your family. Not being a jerk. I'm very serious.

This is exactly what I was thinking after reading the post and the authors first couple follow up's.

Does any know if a Lightning can plug into a Generlink transfer switch to power a home?
https://shopgenerlink.com/
I have a whole home solar system and when my power company came out to inspect I asked bout this unit and he told me they are not approved and it would be removed if someone installed it. Kind of a bummer because it seems like a good option. BUT that was just my power company in central Alabama. With that said make sure you check with your power company before you buy.

Without their special cord, and with out a ground wire, the Lightning will not shut off the power if there is a ground fault, so it would not comply with the NEC and both your utility and any inspector would likely fail it.

You could use a GENERAC 6853 or equivalent instead of the Generlink if your utility does not approve it.

Please stop posting this BS. Every single time someone asks a question like this. You are making up absolute garbage and leaving out important details. There is no planet where the power source connected to the meter trips on a ground fault in the house. Please point to the gfci breaker on your telephone pole. We'll wait.

The breaker panel in the house is responsible for tripping on faults in the house. Not the truck. Not a generator. Not the utility power. The breaker panel in the house will continue to trip for faults in the house. You do not need a sub panel for that.

I'm not doing anything with Generlink...

And the Lightning special cord is simply a cord with the ground disconnected...
