Does anyone have a favorite mount you use? Typical Glock and/or other assorted pistols will be used heaviest being a Desert Eagle .50 AE. I have a magnet mount in my other truck that works very well but damned if I can remember where I got it and the last one I got from Amazon wouldn't hold a bb gun much less a S&W .40 or DE .50.

I prefer magnet mounts due to the universal nature but am open to other ideas as well. Thanks in advanced.

It's an f150 on the inside, most would be universal. If you're left handed then I would suggest a right hand drive version of the lightning.

I have one of these for a different location but I'm thinking about one for the truck. It's only useable with We The People brand IWB holsters.... Link

This is my setup in the center console. Works well with my MC9-P.

Don't own a gun but I use these to stick pots and pans to my walls. And only need 1 each for both my 6qt cast iron dutch oven and a 22 qt stock pot, both quite heavy

Something like this? 😁

Heavy: "I am Heavy Weapons Guy...and this [grabs Minigun] is my weapon. [lays both hands covetously on Minigun] She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute. [looks intently at viewer] It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this weapon...for twelve seconds."

Heavy: [Laughs]

I was looking at that very mount yesterday. Do you think it would fit a large frame like the DE .50? Its not quite twice the size of a compact 9mm.

Yes
Watching for ideas as well. I have never seen anything I would be satisfied with.

IMO any handgun mount should be a form factor that covers the entire trigger guard at a minimum and holds it there firmly. By firmly I mean nearly impossible to deploy without a human gripping it and pulling, just like the retention on a holster.

In a perfect world, out of plain sight. But hard to find a place that is within reach and also out of sight where it will still fit. This is where I am always left running out of ideas and acceptable products.

[Opinion because I like this topic]
Everyone's circumstances are different. Personally I won't put my handguns on any such mount under normal daily routine. It's either on my hip or locked in the console vault if walking into a place where I can't carry. Where I live, even out in the country, leaving guns unsecured in a vehicle is poor opsec and it will get stolen eventually.

Now if I lived somewhere where I could be more confident, I'd absolutely have them stashed ready in every seating position. And selection of long guns under the back seat 🤟.

A GAU8 retired from an A10 on the back would be ideal as well. Pretty sure ProPower can handle it.

I don't know but everything is plastic inside my lightning. You would need to screw some metal plate to wherever you wanted to magnet mount a holster. You could screw a leather holster or metal plate into the underside of the console cover. Then you have to find a place where no one will see it to steal it. Those consoles don't lock but I would find a place where I could drill a hole and slide a pin in that no one can see who might have a quick opportunity to rifle through while you are away for a moment. Last two colt 45 government models I've had that I carried under the front seat ended up missing at some point maybe at an oil change or tire place or car wash or maybe even at the stealership during service. Just carried for emergencies and I didn't really check very often. Now I use a lock box so we will all be shot 97 times apiece before I could get it out from under the seat and unlocked. Or any skunk, possum, or coon will be long gone by the time I get it out.

Good question. I’ll send you a photo with the MC9–P holstered this later evening.

Side note, your carry is a DE .50? 🤯
