HV Battery Wont charge past 84%

Last week Ford came and installed software updates to my 22 Lariat ER. Now my truck won't charge past 84% on my L1 or L2 charger, but shows 100% 250 miles on screen and in the app, until I put the truck in gear then it drops to 84%.

I'm see a few others having similar issues in the last week.. also slow charging rates. I need to get it in to deal to test, sounds like a battery module failing.

Unrelated to update. Sorry, but you likely have a bad module (SSM). Exact same symptoms as mine and a few others. If you have CarScanner you can confirm. Make sure dealer knows about the SSM.

No. The software comes two versions, free and Pro. Free will do for your needs. It connects via Bluetooth.

Here is their webpage with app store links. They also have an article on choosing an adapter. If you already have a corded OBD2 adapter like OBDLink EX then you can also use FORScan to get the HVB module variations.

The thread I link above has details of what you are looking for.
The CarScanner HVB Variation parameters are in post 10.
The equivalent values in FORScan are in post 59.

I have a bad HV battery module. They have one ordered. They wouldn’t let me take the truck as it could give the pull over error and go into limp mode at any time. So, I’m driving a 2026 Explorer until it is repaired. Somewhere between 3 days and 3 weeks.
