I get my new to me f150 lightning today ….

I get my new to me, 2023 XLT ER 312A Ford Lightning today. I wanted one of these trucks since they first announced, just could not fork up the prices they were selling for in the first 2 years of release. Fast forward today, I’m getting a used one after it was reacquired by Ford from the original owner due to lengthy repair time. The truck has since been repaired (screen turns black) was the issue.

anyways, what are some of your must have accessories? I’ve already ordered covertopia pleather seat covers from a prior recommendation on this forum, and I also ordered a Tesla destination charger adapter from A2Z.

I’ll eventually need a Tesla fast charger adapter but I can wait on that or try and find one used.

the truck doesn’t have a topper or bed liner, so my next purchases will be towards that area.

excited for my new truck and interested to hear feedback on your must have accessories or upgrades.

Yup I purchased the stellar plug yesterday off your post a few days ago. I’ll hold off on the typhoon pro for now; I drove a model 3 for 3 years and never once used a super charger.

Congrats on getting your 2023 XLT ER. Not sure if the dealership did this, but also do a master reset to remove everything from the prior owner. Also make sure you have a Ford account, and add the vehicle to the account as it might have been still assigned to the old owner once you are done with the reset.

I am not sure if you have any other EVs, but invest in a good EVSE and don't rely on the Ford one provided. I personally have been using OpenEVSE for years.

Everything else is just truck specific.

i have my Tesla charger I’ll use once I get the adapter, in the meantime I’ll use the ford 30amp charger

Congratulations! I have a feeling you’re going to really enjoy how functional and easy it is to driving full size truck for everything. I’ve just logged 17400 miles in my 24’ Flash and have been really impressed with ease of use for full size truck. My favorite accessory is the Flated air topper. This full inflatable canopy is sturdy, lightweight and has provided protection for all my gear and dog since Dec. I’ve driven from Canadian border to San Luis Obispo, towed fishing boat, and daily drives to office. Not heavy duty stuff but this truck has made staying active a lot easier. Enjoy!
