Personal preference is the perfect answer. I just wish the stock shifter had no motors in it.

Does the shifter interfere with the driver alert camera?

Mine may as well not have motors in it, they never get used. Except the time I opened the door while in drive, it promptly let me know it does and how they're used lol.

No lay flat console lid in my rig so I never have a need to fold it down flat.

I'd imagine not, since when you're in drive, the shifter is lower in position and should be out of the way of the driver facing IR camera.

I really wish it wasn't so dang expensive, though not surprising for a 1st iteration. Personally pumped the brakes when I saw it wasn't compatible with power tilt/telescope yet, unless I'm misreading that part.

SO is that connector there and just open ended?

Its a connector looks like this

I received my kit and an looking forward to replacing the console shifter with the column shifter. However, the harness in my kit doesn't contain this connector. To clarify, was there a design change or did I end up with the harness for the ICE version. I want to confirm that I have the correct harness before taking everything apart.

Yeah I was told the harnesses going out now are not the "Production Ones" THey are good to go only difference is for the future ability to add our genie maxx.

Make sure your shifter is not a RL3 part number.. THat was the issue for the other one

Thank you for the update. I will be interested in the genie maxx when it is available, but I'm sure there will be a way to sort that out then.

The shift lever I received is ML3Z-7210-AK.

Hopefully, I can get everything installed this weekend while the weather is warmer and the plastics are more flexible.

That is all good then.

the genie max will be some time before it’s ready. Our intention is to be able to cycle through drive modes with the plus minus.. or possibly be able to set them to some function you decide.. that will take some time though..

Got the correct shifter and it works like a dream. Drove it all weekend to make sure I had no issues and none appeared on the dash. No codes on forscan either so its working like the stock shifter. I did wrap the shifter in leather to cover the unused buttons (though it kind of looks like it just has thick electrical tape on it, may change this down the line).

Awesome. Glad they got the shifter out to you. Later we will have a genie max that will make use of those buttons. Possibly map them out to whatever you want.. IE Tow mode..

Glad its sorted out.. Thank you for posting

That’s a nice feature of the rotary shifter. No motors. No sound and less to break. lol.
