Homelink can be added to your visor, if you have lighted mirrors, for under $40.

The charger is a piece of garbage.

Rick, how do you add HL for under 40 bucks without swapping out the sun visor? I’ve been looking around and those visors ain’t cheap.

110v is level 1, 220v is level 2, dcfc is dcfc(aka level 3)

The Ford mobile charger is both level 1 and level 2. The hard-wired evse is level 2 only.

In short, visors usually (not always) have the cutout for the Homelink module. You remove the cloth cover (actually peel it back, cut out the area (which is already perforated), find the mirror wires, stick the module from Ebay into the compartment after connecting the wires, put the cloth back, cutting out a tiny area, and snap the cover on.

I did this on my 2010 Fusion Hybrid, my 2013 F-150, and my 2018 Fusion Energi (was removed "due to interference"). The only unknown is whether the area is perforated still. On some vehicles, I could feel it through the cloth.

In 2018, I bought the module for the Fusion Energi for $13 on Ebay. In 2014, I bought the one for the F-150 for $21.90. Looks like they're $55 now.

Here is it installed on my 2013 F-150. Looks factory.

You need power, which comes from the vanity mirror, and you need to verify the cutout is there. The fabric (see attachment) is stuffed into the inside of the visor and held by plastic teeth. When you're done with the install, you use a plastic tool or credit card to stuff it back in.

I have no idea if the cutout exists today.

Also - others have done a similar install except into the center console, you can find those instructions by Googling.

Not unreasonable at all. You can build a BMW 330i at $53,000 with significantly more features than comes with the Platinum.

Furthermore the upcoming IX3 will likely also have more features plus an 800v architecture priced ~$60,000.

I should add that I'm not a "modder", nor do I possess good skills. This just takes patience, in folding the cloth back, pulling out the piece, fitting in the module, putting the cloth back, cutting out the section, and snapping the cover with the buttons on.

Also - keep hands clean so you don't put fingerprints all over the visor.

If you want to DIY running board lights you’ll need these connectors and pins:

Molex Male Connector Housing - 34675-0002 (2x)
Molex Automotive Connector Contact - 34080-0001 (4x) or 34080-1002 (4x) (14/16 or 18/20 AWG, respectively)

Plugs should be present and live under the rear passenger doors.

Recently purchased a 2025 Platinum with the added Dark Elment package. This is the truck I've been waiting for since the inception of the Lightning. It's difficult to explain how a truck owner can live with white leather seats but I digress. Now to the petty part. This is a top tier fully loaded F-150 pickup truck priced at $85,000. Knowing this, Ford has elected to remove the homelink buttons from the sun visor as well as removing the two lights at the rear of the running board. Ford is also asking me to pay $600 for a level 1 charger and Tesla adapter. I love my truck, but this seems like penny pinching at a high level.

If you were to add all of those back on, you would still end up being cheaper than what the original cost, and that's not even factoring inflation.

Sure, you can argue that there was a tax credit back then; but that money didn't go to Ford and it isn't their fault. At the end of the day, they're making $7,000 less on your truck.

I just saw someone with a homelink unit added right behind the places for the sunglass holders I believe. It was one of these recent threads I looked at.
