I'm pretty sure it's not $1000 per hour, maybe $100 per hour.

When purchasing any new vehicle, I always get a 3rd key and I think they charged me $200. When the new key came in, it took them 20 minutes to program it. Wasn't a big deal.
You quoted my 4 month old post out of context.
I was replying to charging $165 to do a 10 minute job….you do the math!

First gen Tesla were just as expensive. I lost my fob on our 22 Plaid and was told that fortunately fob replacement had dropped in 2020 to $165 including programming. Back in 2014 it was more than $450.
