I wonder if the bump in March sales were buyers looking to avoid any tariff hits they figured were coming soon...resulting in fewer April sales.

I did a quick seach and it appears the plant is producing 6,000 lightnings' per month - double the best sales month? Maybe my search info is out of date.

Do you have a link I could look at?
The actual production data has been hard to get this year, last data I have is appx 600-700 per week.

There were crazy incentives out by Ford in March... people were snagging Platinums w/ no money down at around $520/mo on 3 year leases. With all the combined dealer cash + bonus pricing, they were dropping ~$25k off the sticker price. Don't think Tesla's done that yet...

i definitely bought in March to avoid tariff impact. Sooner than I had planned to purchase a Flash, but it didn't affect any other decision making. Nor did I manage to strike an amazing bargain. Much better incentive, at that time, on Platinum.

I mean, they kinda did when they dropped the non exclusive founders edition.

The actual production data has been hard to get this year, last data I have is appx 600-700 per week.
In April 2025, Ford production plans for the F-150 Lightning were reduced. They were expected to produce an average of 1,600 Lightning trucks per week. This equates to roughly 6,400 per month (assuming an average of 4 weeks per month). This was a significant reduction from the previous production goal of around 3,200 weekly units.

This is what came up from an AI search - it quotes Car and Driver, and "internal planning memo"
Elaboration:
  • Production Cut:
Ford announced in late 2023 that they would reduce F-150 Lightning production to one shift at their Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, effective April 1, 2024, according to Car and Driver.

  • Weekly Production:
The internal planning memo indicated that suppliers could expect an average of 1,600 Lightning trucks per week.

  • Monthly Production:
This translates to approximately 6,400 units per month (1,600 per week * 4 weeks/month).

  • Reason for Cut:
This production reduction was a response to slower-than-expected demand for the F-150 Lightning, according to Car and Driver.

I wonder if the crown goes to Lightning for being a better truck? Or it goes to Ford CEO for being a decent human being (as opposed to a Jacka…)

The OP post says registrations so I assume that would mean new and used??
Perhaps this is the reason for the discrepancy in the numbers??

… there I go assuming again!

The few window stickers I've been able to review, indicate they NEVER got close to those 'GOALS'

Exactly, registrations is a very unspecific term, new and used and over a couple of model years with stale inventory from prior model years stuck in holding lots.

Dig into history ... and you'll find the OG nazi Adolf Hitler had a portrait of Henry Ford on the wall o_O

More relevantly the Lightning IS a truck, not a novelty.

The more I drive my Flash the more I’m confused why most of the truck people I know aren’t driving one. They rarely tow and complain about filling up. Wonder what it will take for them to make that jump.

100%
I think you hit the nail on the head, "The more I drive my Flash..."
Most don't have the opportunity to daily drive your Flash- but if they did, I bet they'd want one too!

Unless you're towing, or regularly taking long road trips, it's just better, in every category. My friends that gave (and some still give) grief are clowning themselves. It's become political, and a large % of people aren't able to think rational once politics are involved. It's been 30K+ miles and nearly a year and a half, and I love mine each and every time I hop in. The novelty has yet to wear off, and I just drive a Pro.

Given enough time, it will sort itself out.
