Ford F-150 Lightning My first 100k miles IMG_0050

I'm no @Helium , but I'm close. Just crossed 100k last week on my '23 Platinum. Battery SOH (I know it's a made-up number) reported by both FDRS and pulling the PID is 99%. I haven't seen any noticeable range reduction, so I believe it.

To answer the usual questions.
1) I am always plugged into my garage charger with the setting at 80% for the typical day. I will charge to 100% before (and on) long road trips. (80% at fast chargers). It an FCSP set to full power (80A).
2) I use fast chargers on long road trips. Doesn't seem to affect the health (obviously).
3) I would buy it again in an instant, but am disappointed that the new models can only charge at 48A at home. 80A makes a big difference when you have a turnaround time, or want to add the last 20% to get 100%.
4) I do tow a teardrop camper around from time to time. Best of both worlds. If the campground has power, I fill my truck. If I'm in the forest, I still have A/C. :)

Nice! Any major issues along the way? My 23 Lariat is only at 23,750🤣
Got a '23 lariat too.. bought it in August with 26,000, and already put over 10,000 on 😂

Sadly, I will run out of time, before I run out of Mileage...

Congrats on the 100K miles!
I'm on pace for 20,000 in my first year, but I retired 4 weeks ago so not doing about 1,000 per month for the commute. I am doing more fun driving however, so we'll see what my first year does...

Curious - above 80 % SOC, does the 80A charger stay at this charge level right to 100% SOC?

I don't keep track of it super closely, but I'm pretty sure it derates a bit towards the top. I know it does quite often even in the middle of a charge due to temperature. I know it takes about 2 hrs to go from 80%-100%.

No, it drops off considerably. I always charge to 100% before towing my boat an a road trip. That last few percent can be quite slow and almost a trickle from 99 to 100. However, one thing interesting is that when you start driving at 100% you get quite a few extra miles more than you think you would before it drops to 99%. For some reason, they SOC meter is not linear at the very top percent.

I have noticed this too:
ie if I drive starting at 80% SOC to the near-by city, I typically use 6% of my SOC to get there, but when I charge to 100% SOC I might use 3% SOC for that same trip in similar weather conditions.

We know the battery capacity is more than Ford allow us access to, but I wonder if they do use some of that available battery capacity in some situations...not too sure.

As said above, the rate of charge does slow after 95%, I've documented this with charts in several older threads in the Charging section of the forum. When It reaches +98% then it really slows down to allow the cell balancing process to work.

have you use an OBD + CarScanner to look at reported SoC vs actual kWh remaining? I think there's some curve to the reporting so that it helps users not reach too low on charge (reporting a lower SoC near 0% so actually go charge).

i havent checked, but none of my 10k inspections have mentioned it. Is be surprised if there was much wear. I drive pretty conservatively typically.
