Did you check the effectivity?

1)this may not apply to any lightnings

2)even if it does, it's only f150s built until Nov. 2022

I've got a 2023 model and the roof has been rock solid. Rain, ice and snow.

Also, if you don't want to read it, it's about the wind deflector possibly coming off and creating a road hazard.

I intentionally never open my moon roof. I feel like as soon as dust or leaves or pine needles fall in the tracks it’s gonna start leaking. Just my own theory.

They really need to let you order a Lariat or Platinum without the damn moonroof. I wanted a Lariat but settled on a Flash because I absolutely did not want the damn moonroof.
Why's that if I may ask? I enjoy the panoramic as do the kids.

So far no issues with mine, but this is my first Ford experience since my dad's Explorer back in '98. Not tempting fate so I do the same as above; never open the sunroof but i'll open the shade to let my kids look out/let some sun in.

Regardless, I would have still taken the sunroof if was an option. It's just too nice not to have imo.

Has anyone ever followed up on this recall? I just called my local dealer and they were completely unaware of it. However, my clips for my moon roof did come detached a couple months ago, and I had to manually reattach them. Not confident in the way they are secured.

The guy at the parts department at Watsonville Ford seemed very annoyed that I was even inquiring.

The recall number does not come up with anything.

I enjoy the view too, but it wasn't worth the ~$2,400 I had to pay in repairs for the leaks earlier this year.

I have yet to experience that in my 2025 but I will surely be on the lookout. Whereabouts did it leak mainly?

Multiple places, drains, seals, and one from the antella pod somehow. Whole floor was soaked.

Mine has the recall listed. Dealer said they could remedy it via mobile service. Have yet to schedule it.

It's an inspection of the air deflector. If it's falling off they will reattach or replace it.

On his podcast, Doug Demuro mentioned that Ford had entered into a consent decree with NHTSA due to past recall issues. As a result they are being super conservative when issuing recalls, hence the Guinness Book of World Records number of recalls. I suspect this recall falls into the category of recalls that wouldn't be recalls if not for the consent decree.

Consent decree was over a year ago, second largest settlement in NHTSA history, second only to Takata air bag settlement.

A recall is safety related. Air deflectors flying off are a hazard to drivers behind you.
