Was wondering how your truck scoots thru deep sand?
Real good. That photo was my old standard range pro on “all terrains”. I have since upgraded to an xlt extended range on all seasons. I definitely feel that the old pro was a bit more sure footed on the sand. That said they are both great. I did manage to get the xlt stuck on a really soft uphill section. To be fair though I was working with some guys on tracked heavy duty equipment so I was lazy and didn’t bother airing down. They gave me a pull and I was on my way.

Did you have the rear Elock engaged and in off-road mode? Was thinking about taking mine to Glamis. Nothing crazy but I’d like to be able to head out to Oldsmobile hill using the sand highway.

I did but I was placing stakes for the other guys and managed to stop in a really bad spot. If I had aired down it likely would not have been a problem. Obviously glamis is real soft to so just be sure to air down and only stop on downhills if you can.

I miss Glamis. Used to go riding out there all the time back in the early 2000s. Need to fix all my old dirt bikes and get back out there haha.

When I retired in 2016, I was staying out there in the washes for 4-5 months at a time during the winter season. It’s not like it used to be and after 3 seasons I ended up selling the RV and off road car and trailer. Lot of theft and asshats selling dope. You no longer can leave your camp to go for a ride and expect to come back finding all your shit still there. Really sad bro.

Had to rent a 6x12 U-Haul to transport furniture from Georgia to Texas. Man, that trailer was like pulling a parachute on the interstates. Only got 1.3-1.4 mi/kwhr at 70 mph.

Well I bagged about 7000 pounds of stone and hauled it over a mountain to my home. Topped up charge before loading, range estimate settled in around 150% of my distance, easy peasy, and then just before the ascent it dropped ~ 1/3 of that due to 'outside temperature' o_O . I knew it was cool up the mountain and ended up with 30% charge on arrival but it was interesting doing that 3900 foot climb, LOL

Interesting indeed...like...

How my brakes got squishy coming down the mountains in Colorado in a VW Bus loaded with band members and band equipment on our way to Durango...or...

How it was interesting when I was climbing Pikes Peak in August and suddenly it started to snow and everybody had to make u-turns on narrow hairpin curving road, OMG!

Sweating bullets!

Did some truck shit last week. Bought a Bobcat, so a quick 15 hour round trip trip from LA to Vegas towing an empty trailer out, and a Bobkitten back.

1.4 miles per kW average @ 60 mph
656 miles
106 degrees
4 charging stops (2 EA 2 Tesla)
8 Tesla chargers blocked by trailer
1 Burrito eaten
0 Blue Cruise miles

Just curious where the charging stops were. I'm guessing the EA in Baker was two of them.

EA in Baker was, I was lusting after the Tesla chargers there that are locked to Tesla only. In the AM, EA was a breeze with 12 of 12 operational stalls and 178kw charge rate. On the return leg, 6 of 12 chargers were offline, and there was a line of 12 people. But at 8% I was stuck. Was only feeding 70kw too, so it took me a full hour to get enough to get over the hill to Yermo's Tesla charger.

The other stop was Tesla right off the 146 before you go into Vegas. It's on the side of the M hotel they're building.

On the way back, I bypassed this one and charged at Tesla Yermo off Sunrise. Mis Pinches Tacos has some legit Al pastor burritos.
