Western Canada is having a polar vortex and dumped lots of snow here in greater vancouver lately. Driving in such conditions always accumulates snow/slush/ice on Wheel fenders, running boards and rear bumpers like the photos. I tried kicking these huge blob of iced slushes to dislodge them and found the ones at the rear driver side at back bumper had it dangling on the wiring of a sensor.
This is just a poor routing of these wiring IMO. The wire pierce right into the center of the big iced slush that I would imagine that if one didn't remove this properly and when ice blob on its own separates from bumper and left dangling, you will break something. I have to use a heat gun to make the ice blob smaller to access the wire penetration point and not hurt the sensor connector. Video was taken after I shrink the blob.

Not sure if passenger side sensor wire has similar routing coz the ice build up is a little different and won't dislodge like the driver side, but shouldn't they be designed so it will not make a loop that is position where ice blob accumulates?

Ford engineers, are you listening? ??

Go ahead and look at the block of snow/ice that forms behind the front wheels on the snow scoop I mean skid plate in front of the battery where all the major electrical connections are.

I can park in the garage for 8 hours and it is still frozen solid. I have nicknamed it my Ford glacier.

Thanks TaxmanHog for letting me know.
I guess goohle drive video link don't work here. Try again but now thru YouTube....

Noooooo!

That wire exposure is unacceptable! I hope this was just a single failure at assembly and NOT the design. This can't be how Ford wanted those wires routed. :(

The old Farmer's almanac is calling for more wintery conditions in some parts of the country, pay attention to your wheel well ice blobs.

I'm thinking about throwing a set of mud-flaps on the rear tires to avoid this issue.

I have to park outside, so it's not going to melt off on its own.
