The simplest solution to this i found was to leave the car running overnight. Turn off the climate system and headlights. Cover the display with a towel. Pro power stays on all night .
I have a 23 that does not have the promised "pro power with truck off" update that I was promised by the dealer and a Ford engineer when they convinced me to buy my 2023 in 2024. So at this time I still need to keep the truck on. I do use pro power for work as well and sometimes our jobs are in a bad neighbourhood. I leave it on now, but hate it. Besides the display, HVAC and lights, the fans that keep the battery cool or warm stay on. It sounds like the truck is on and very tempting for a criminal to break in, even though I know the key is not in there, they don't. I was looking forward to getting the update one day but this 90 watt timer is ridiculous? What is the reasoning behind, truck on = no load. Truck off = 90 watts? Does anyone know if there is a technical reason for this or are they just being a nanny?

I did this test last weekend in my ‘23 Lariat ER. Wish it had 1 button to do this but I put a cooler in the frunk and left it running for 12 hours with the truck on. Lights off, HVAC off, power down timer off, wipers off, calm screens, etc. Cooler and truck running drained 2%. Cooler only draws <45 watts and barely registered on the pro power screen when running. This was in my garage for confidence testing.

The next day I used it for real while going on a 6 hour bike ride to have cold water and beer after. Drew down the battery 1%. Wish I could shut the screens off completely and put it in this mode without having to have an 11 step checklist to make sure I get everything off. There is a slight hum while it is running but only if someone is close and listening for it.

I was impressed how it worked and it was cheaper and has more space without ice than a comparable Yeti. Also tried running it down to -8 F to see if I could put ice cream in it. An internal thermometer read -11.

BTW there is a FORScan mod where you can keep the timer from ever starting so you could skip the "Disable Vehicle Power Down Timer" step. See the bottom of this post.

I get a notification on the screen that says my cover in the trunk is open when I have my cooler plugged in and do I want to continue with it. When I say close it the pops up with a notice that the power down timer is off and do I want to continue. It seems to remember I have set the power down timer to off as I don’t have to go in and re-enable each time.

So theoretically they should stay on once I flip the toggle.

Your screen shows that your 2024 has the newer software/firmware and can stay on with the truck off.

The switches you have on already will keep ProPower Onboard going all night -- in fact until your ProPower Reserve is reached.

If you switch on the "Keep on while vehicle is off" that was added with the 2024 software/firmware stack, it should stay on all night with the truck off.

I believe folks with 24's have reported that even with that turned on, if there is not a load (like 90 watts), it will still turn off after a period of time (IIRC like 6-15 minutes).

Should probably test it before you go with the loads you will have.
Can someone document this 90W load requirement? I don't see it anywhere in the 2024 manual.

A 90W load is certainly not required when the truck is turned on in older model Lightnings.

I've seen it mentioned a couple times from 2024 owners when using the "truck off" option, like here.
Not surprising it's not documented.

Ford, can you push this to me on my ‘23 please!

Thanks for that link.

That's why I'm looking for documentation of the source. One person posts an assumption and it keeps getting repeated. The result is a false urban legend.

I read that post as if @Gerstein1989 had experienced it. My memory isn't great but iirc another member did tests and came up with the 90ish number.
EDIT: see this post. Also others reporting the issue in that thread.

And yes only for 24+ with the truck-off option they have.

This is my process as well. It works.

I've kept the phones and iPads plugged in overnight and they have charged. I use a power strip plugged into the rear outlets.

No, this has been the real world experiance by more than one. The fact that it needs a minimum draw is undocumented, that's not much of a surprise.

Again, this is wrong. The Pro Power does NOT stay on if draw on the system is less than the minimum. A few tests showed the draw needed is just under 100w. Others tested it and showed the system shut down in about 6 minutes (iirc) when draw was below the 90-100w

In practice is expect there is very very little difference between Pro Power with truck off and Pro Power with truck on. I expect the only practical difference is the screens. Aside from that you can manually turn off the HVAC and radio. Pro Power itself will still mandate that most of the rest of the systems remain active, specifically the cooling loop and fans. The Pro Power inverter is liquid cooled so the same coolant loop will be active truck on or off. The same is true of the security of the truck. It cant drive without the key so on or off its the same effort to steal the truck.

I posted this a few months ago: Try it yourself and see if it works for you. I’ll do it again in a few minutes myself.

EDITED!
TEST FAILED WITH NO LOAD! PROPOWER OUTLETS TURNED OFF AFTER A PEROD OF TIME.

————-

I BELIEVE I FOUND THE PROBLEM AND SOLUTION!

I just got in the truck
left the driver door open
started the truck
Selected Pro Power
Turned on bed outlets
Selected “Keep Power On while vehicle os OFF”
Then turned the truck OFF
exited the truck

and a few minutes after turning off the truck the bed outlets turned OFF. 🥸

Then 2nd time
I got in the truck
SHUT THE DRIVER DOOR
Started the truck,
Selected Pro Power
turned on the Bed Outlets
selected toggle “Keep Power ON when Vehicle is OFF”.
Turned OFF the truck
exited the truck

AND HERE It Is 25 Minutes later outlet power is still ON!!!

So it seems the solution is to close driver door BEFORE starting the truck and making setting selections.

What kind of load do you have attached to the bed outlets to verify on or off? As noted, loads less than 90 Watts seem to cause the unwanted behavior.

Now testing it with nothing plugged in , ZERO Load. I'll report back in 30 minutes when I plug in my cooler in the bed and see it the outlet is still live or not.

What is interesting is that the screen said the vehicle must be on to use this feature even when I selected Keep (Pro Power) On When Vehicle is Off

We run our entire travel trailer off it overnight.
