You and the rest of us will have to wait for deployment of a proper OTA, what you got was a dud....

I received the update and, knock on wood, the sound has not gone out on my CarPlay, requiring a resetting of the entertainment center or my Wi-Fi on my phone. Probably dumb luck, but so far so good.

wow, since the update I have not had one wireless CarPlay failure. even if its not perfect this is better than ever before.
I was hoping wireless app projection was improved with this update. I'm so used to just using a wired connection at this point, I will probably just continue to do so whenever Ford deems me worthy of getting it, but happy to hear. I see SO many posts of people complaining about this on every Ford forum in existence.

So even though you don't have the OTA push, you are saying you also still don't have an APIM queued?

No as of two days ago when I plugged into FDRS.

Wow, I received this today while out and about...my first OTA update on the truck since I bought it used (in January).

EDIT: I have done my own FDRS...just calling out my first OTA.

I must be a unicorn here. I got the update after a 3,400-mile road trip (during which I deliberately turned off auto updates). Same as everyone else, no controls, and walkaway lock was not activated. But YIKES! After the update, my frunk hood can be opened electronically, but not closed except by manually gently slamming it down the last little bit (the usual manual close, pushing the hood almost closed and letting it autolatch and close completely, no longer works). So, Brian (@Ford Motor Company), maybe this glitch should be added to the list of things that can go wrong with the Sync-25.2.1.6.5 update, and hopefully can be remedied by a subsequent OTA update (not so great to have to visit a dealer to fix failed Ford OTA updates...). I let the Sync update run on 7/15, and the frunk issue has not "self-healed" since that date.

I should note parenthetically that my trip took me over some absolutely rotten American high-speed roads, particularly in Oklahoma and Illinois. My truck got the Hell rattled out of it. So bad, that the elevator bolts on my Bak MX4 tonneau cover both rattled loose and flipped out of the cover despite the locknut washers Bak supplies (I bought a replacement Bak elevator bolt kit at Action Car & Truck in London, Ontario, and used orange (semi-permanent) Permatex Threadlocker to seal the deal this time around! :D ). The fact that elevator bolt replacement kits are so readily available tells me that Bak may have a little problem with its tonneau cover design....). So, it's possible that the absolute beating my truck took on poorly maintained American highways encountered between San Antonio and London, Ontario, screwed something about lowering my frunk hood. But given my past experiences with Ford software that doesn't always work as it should, I'd bet more on the Sync update as the cause of my frunk hood problems.

@Jim Lewis I noticed after this update that this was added to the access menu where I can now tap the screen and electronically just pop the frunk. It doesn't power lift open. Is this what you are referring to?

I just hit the frunk button in the cab twice to make it close and latch.

None of the frunk buttons would work (cab, frunk hood, FordPass). The frunk closing beep wouldn’t even sound if any of those buttons were pressed.

But, inspired by your reply, I hit the frunk cab button twice. NOTHING! But I kept holding the frunk button down and suddenly I could hear the frunk closing warning beep, but the frunk still wouldn’t close. Pushed the hood down until almost closed and then it self-latched, as it wouldn’t do post-update. Now the frunk opens and closes normally! Thanks for the tip that nudged me in a productive direction! ? ?

Edit_Update: A day later, I'm back to the frunk won't close again. The long frunk button press no longer rescues frunk closure. Perhaps disconnecting the 12V battery or a factory reset is in my future?

I do not believe the frunk, "pop open only", was here before this latest update. Add to that, except for the pass app, Every "truck" graphic has never been my trucks design and color and always has a sunroof.
