A lot of people here are fussing about the horn honk on lock. I personally use the fold mirrors on lock and just glance back at the truck.
I was going the over the shoulder folding mirror thing for confirmation. Also would get a notification on my Apple Watch, all that being so…I still like the horn chirp. If you don’t like or want that feature you can toggle it off in settings.

I just got this one today. Updated while I was running some errands this morning. I think the number is the same SYNC-25.2.6.1.5 but unless I’m mistaken the release notes are different. I’ve had walk away locking for some time but wanted a “chirp” when the locks engaged to let me know the lock had happened. So got a few new “toggles” under locks and confirmation chirp was one of them. I’ll post a screenshot of the release notes I got with this update. Seems it also included some Blue Cruise stuff.

Yah, I’m still waiting the toggles to show up, but like things like they are so no big deal for me.

I've gotten a software update that says that I now have walk-away locking installed, but the UI never changed ('22 Lightning Lariat). The Vehicle menu continues to show 'Lock' (not 'Locking' per the report). There's no control in the UI for this. Anyone run into this? Here's my relevant screens:

The WAL is so unreliable. They really need to make it a timed thing like GM. Like last door closes and 10sec later doors lock. Sometimes I can be right next to truck and just closed last door and it immediately locks. Other times I can walk 100yards away and nothing.

Wow, it sounds like it might not be worth waiting for. I'd rather have BC 1.4, but was thinking that WAL was the gateway to making this happen. Good to know, thanks!

One should have anything to do with the other. I had BC 1.4 before WAL but I also did it with fdrs so they might have made a difference. Hopefully they will eventually update it to work better but not holding my breath. lol.

So I just got BCM-24.5.1 OTA…haven’t gone out to the truck yet but will soon - is this the BCM update that previously people had to get installed by the dealer?

I park literally in front of my couch at my cabin, and WAL was just enabled via OTA on my truck 2 days ago. I use PAAK, and both fobs sit right by the door where I took this picture. My truck has reliably locked 100% of the time, but it does have a delay because CarPlay lingers and until my phone connects to my home WiFi, it doesn’t lock, but, it will eventually, even 10 feet away…so far. YMMV.

Interesting your CarPlay “lingers”. Mine does not. As soon as I open the door truck is off and mine is disconnected. You might be one of the lucky ones that it works. Mine does lock I’d say 99.8% of the time it’s just the time frame. Sometimes it’s instant and sometimes it takes me walking super far away or if I’m close to the truck it might not lock for a couple minutes. Very weird.

FYI, your experience is not because CarPlay “lingers”. Once you open the door with truck off, Sync and CarPlay turn off. It’s not waiting for your phone to pick up another WiFi. What if you were somewhere else with no WiFi?

It’s probably worth noting the conditions WAL needs to lock. Here are the lock conditions from the 2024 online Owners Manual. Note the last bullet:

Walk away lock locks all the doors when all of the following are met:
  • The vehicle is off.
  • All doors, hood and luggage compartments have been closed and unlocked.
  • Any passive key or authorized phone is not inside the vehicle.
  • All passive keys or authorized phones leave the approach detection zone of the vehicle or more than two and a half minutes has elapsed after closing the door.
Yours is locking when the last bullet is satisfied.

Interesting. This was happening before I got the WAL BCM update - granted, I park about 8 feet from my couch. But even after the truck is off and I have exited the vehicle, my phone stays connected to the truck’s WiFi. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but I live in an area with no cellular coverage, so my phone is dead to me unless I go into settings and turn off, then turn back on Wi-Fi so it joins my home network. I’m probably the outlier here as most people live in an area with cellular coverage at their home, and generally park more than 8 feet away from their living room.

Exactly the same on my '25 which was built in June '25.
