I've turned off the rear occupant alert, but as T.F.M. says:

When you switch the system off, a
message appears every six months as a
reminder that the system is off. You can
switch the system back on or leave it off.

So, it nags one every six months instead of every time a backpack is left on the rear seat. A pretty good design choice IMHO, promoting safety as much as owners will tolerate, without crying wolf and being ignored anyway.
I've gotten it a few times, and I think the 6 month mark is only triggered if you start off by opening and closing a rear door.

Precisely what I do with my truck.

3. Silly motion alarm when leaving the truck and leaving passengers inside. Can I permanently disable it?
Platinum?

There is a motion alarm that is armed when you lock the doors from the outside. There's a way to turn it off but I don't recall if it's permanent. Look in settings.

@daczone Pretty sure the setting is in the instrument cluster (steering wheel controls), not the center display.

Once I turned off the reminder, I havent touched it since. Guessing you either locked it when you got out or WAL is enabled? Alarm shouldn't go off if unlocked.

I get it and I almost never use the rear doors.

Regarding #3 ... I get Rear Occupant Alerts when I exit the truck and have something laying on the rear seat.
His description is vague, but with #3 I’m assuming that what he’s talking about is the horn honk you get when you leave the truck on and step out with the key in your pocket and walk away. If that’s what he’s talking about, then yes you can shut it off permanently in the settings. I did, and mine hasn’t done that annoying thing since. If he’s talking about something totally different, then maybe he can explain it in more detail.
there is an alert for rear passengers. just turn it off.

There is a motion sensor on certain trims that will activate it you turn off the truck and don't disarm it, which has a prompt if you turn it on. Then, when the passengers move, the alarm goes off. Has nothing to do with rear sensors, or warnings. See post #6.

You would be horridly surprised how many people forget their children or trained pets in the backseat.

1) A great example of the valuable info in the manual. Page 85. Pull #1 unlocks door, #2 opens it. If you have autounlock turned on (same page), and you open your door first, all doors are unlocked.

3) No, you cannot permanently turn it off. Leave vehicle running... Or, change setting, page 102, and each time tell it to turn off.
1. I would say yes... except I don't have to do this from either side in the front seats. But I will take a look. Thank You.

3. I never have my keys the are at home. I only use my phone. So I either leave my phone in the truck with my passengers, or when I walk away it locks and the motion alarm is active. Stupid design. If I knew where the sensor was I would probably remove it.

Yes government-backed requirement for all new cars to have a Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) system

No. Leave truck running, have passengers lock door after you get out. No motion sensors are activated.

Because it is not a feature of the front doors...

You're basically complaining about things that are clearly explained in the manual.

#3 can be disabled yes.

Silly "feature" btw. Great way to initially learn of it when attempting to get a quick nap in the backseat....

Umm. The car alarm has gone off several times with my daughter sitting in just reading her book. Keys are in my pocket and she locks the doors because she is going to be focus on the book... So no just having them lock the doors without the keys and the truck on does not mean everything is cool.

I'm not talking about the honk when I close the door.

I'm talking full horn beeping lights flashing.

Did you turn off the shutdown timer? At 30 min truck will turn off? Did she try to exit? That will setoff alarm.
