I see you’re down near Houston. I am in the DFW area. I know the climates are quite different even though we’re only a few hours apart. I can make it to Austin No problem on a single charge unless I’m doing around 90 mph then I’ll probably have to stop and get a bit of a charge, (I usually stop around the Buc-ee's in Temple to use the restroom and I get about 15 minute charge (stop, plug-in, walk in, use the restroom, and walk out is about 15 minutes anyway)and then I have enough to get around when I get there) 70-75 is usually not a problem making it all the way, have not driven down I-45 but I’m sure there are plenty of chargers along the way and you will need at least one stop. The wind will be your biggest enemy and best friend as far as how it will affect your range. Once you drive the Lightning on a road trip you won’t want to drive an ICE even though the cost is about the same for road trips! The Lightning is a joy to road trip in even with the extra charging stop(s). It is so smooth and quiet!Researching LIGHTNING and very interested in ER (320) currently -
I'm aggressive highway driver so wondering what high MPH (say 75 -82 MPH) does to range?
Also what is the 320 based on - (55 MPH?) Trying to project potential battery charging requirement based on my driving style.
Any facts, ideas, experience is appreciated.
One other note, is that in the heat of the summer when it’s 100 give or take my efficiency is usually a little lower than what it is in the 80s like it has been for a few days around here (maybe 10% better??)
