I tried. There are a bunch of Rivian chargers in Freeport (they are on the map). I tried plugging the Lightning in when I was there in December, and got "Incompatible" errors both on the charger and on my screen. Maybe they hadn't opened the network yet.
On another note, does anyone know whether or when these chargers start to show up in Google Maps/Android Auto or ABRP?
You are not using the map filters properly. Freeport, ME is not open to non-Rivians. https://www.plugshare.com/location/632456

So, I have ABRP and Google Maps. Do I need the plugshare app to find Rivian chargers? BTW, I went to Freeport because I knew they had Tesla Superchargers. On that day, those were all full, and so I tried the RIvian.
I haven't had any tool send me to non-open Rivian chargers. I have had ABRP send me to OPEN Rivian chargers, but due to price I charged elsewhere.

When I plan any trip, I lookup every charging location on PlugShare and read the reviews. It would tell you the location is not open.

I haven't had Android Auto with GoogleMaps send me to any Rivian locations period, but I don't know that they were even on my route. Given the price, I'd only look for them if there were no other options.

A Rivian charger saved me during a recent 4200 mile round trip excursion. Pulled up to an EA station in Eastern Colorado, and about five minutes in the station just died. The entire bank of four stopped communicating. I'm assuming EA was having a larger issue, because I couldn't get customer support on the phone.

Off to my left was a newly installed set of chargers that I didn't recognize. Pulled up to them and it was Rivian. Tapped with Apple Pay and was good to go. Great speeds, but it was pricey. It was around 60¢, but I didn't care as long as it worked! Charged up for 20 minutes and was on my way.

Thanks, Rivian!
I was about to put in a snarky reply of "That will open up, like, 3 stations". But reading this, is why it matters!

Putting a few in Nags Head, NC in the same shopping center as the Tesla Superchargers.

This is helpful, thanks. I do know that I have seen at least one Rivian charger on Google Maps, but it is fairly close to my house, and so I've never needed it.

Fled central NH due to Motorcycle Week for a few days along the Maine coast. Stopped in Kittery and while shopping at the Trading Post plugged in at the new Rivian Adventure Network chargers. Once I had my credit card straightened out in the Rivian app it was plug and play. At one point it was charging at 154 kw, but when the battery reached 80% it had slowed down to 54 kw. I stopped the charge at 85%. It was a little bit pricey at $0.61/kw, but it was convenient. The RAN also has a fast charging station next to the LL Bean flagship store in Freeport, ME.

So Rivian stations are not part of blue oval? We need to use our CC to charge or can I just plug and charge?

Looks like they are are not. Don't show up at all in FordPass, so I assume you have to use the Rivian app (or maybe a credit card on site). Closest one that is open to me is about 100 miles away so don't expect to visit it any time soon to try.

Just charged at my first RAN charging station. This one in Barstow, CA.

I've been skeptical of RAN. I was wrong.

This is the first time I've seen an average of 143 kW for a charge up to 80%.

Very nice. I just looked, I've beaten that once on a charge from 25 - 80% at a Tesla SuperCharger for an average of 151.03 KW. I have a fairly small sample size of DCFC charges.

With hundreds of DCFC sessions, my average on SCs is lower than most other DCFC brands. But I might have a flakey adapter. It's the Ford-branded Lectron and my truck was charging significantly slower than the Mustang at the same time on a recent SC stop. The local temperature was around 115-120, so it might be thermal.

The Flagler, CO stop I think? I've used this one twice. Drove right past the EA's and up to Rivian. It works great and I get the nice 180+kw charge rate. Downside is it cost more but very reliable for me so far.
