I'm not 100% certain about the reason that the 24hr clock setting wasn't being retained, but I have a theory. When you go to the clock settings in the APIM (Sync screen) and set the clock to 24Hr mode it does change immediately. But the place that this setting is stored is in the IPC (instrument cluster module). Using FORScan to fix this setting changes a value in the IPC to get it to "stick" in 24Hr mode. So when the truck powers on and Sync reads the setting in the IPC it knows to show the time in 24hr mode.
So for this issue (and possibly other issues, dunno) I believe that changing the mode in Sync is not writing the value to the IPC...as if the IPC is not allowing the value to be adjusted. But doing it using FORScan works because you're adjusting the asbuilt value manually.
So it's a software problem.
Oh, and I too have the issue(s) with my IPC reverting to 'Calm Screen' (mostly) or some screen view other than what was showing when I shut the truck off the last time. I think I leave mine in 'Driver Assistance' most of the time, but will get back in after coming out of a store or something, and it's in 'Calm' for some reason.
So again....similar thing....the IPC is not retaining settings over restarts.
