Software update alert, Ford Credit authentication

Hello, over the last month I've received multiple email alerts to set automatic updates on my '23 Lightning Pro. Well, updates have been set to be automatic at 1:00am, almost since the day of purchase 14 months ago.

Next, I've been getting texts several times a week, if not multiple times a day "use verification code...... for Ford Pass authentication".

I've checked the account, and nothing seems out of sorts, no purchases, etc. Is Ford hallucinating or am I overlooking something?

Do you have multi-factor authentication enabled on your account? If you used Ford Credit it could apply there. Sounds like someone/thing trying to log into your account.

Software alerts are emailed and authentication number is a text on android.

I have multifactor and initially I thought it might be a hack but Ford Credit doesn't appear to have any intrusions.

I have been having this happen for a while now. I called Ford and they don't worry about it, which made me a worry a little more.

This does sound like someone has your password and is trying to use your account. My .02 would be to change the password and the most important thing is not to reuse it anywhere else.

A little background is that if you reuse your password on multiple sites and one of the sites suffers a breach in one way or another, you have your password exposed for other services. That may be what happened here.

Yep, pw changed and still using two factor. Always pay attention to the one card used for charging via the apps, just in case. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
