My truck is nearing 30k miles with 99.5% SOH. The battery will outlast any other component on the truck with the exception of the motors.

I’m at almost 14k and still showing 100% SOH. I’m assuming it will come off 100 at some point. I do keep it limited to 80% unless I take a trip then usually 90% max.

Where do you see SOH on these trucks?

My Lightning is new (less than 1000 miles) but I have a 2018 Tesla Model 3. Pretty much only use Superchargers, occasionally plug into slower chargers. The car has close to 100,000 miles on it and not really seeing significant battery degradation.

My Lightning is at 32k and my MNE is at 60k. Both are operating fine, but how are you guys determining you vehicle’s SOH?

I’m don’t know how to do this. When I charge, both vehicles typically top out at about 300 miles, but this is not SOH.

See Post #5, you need a Scanner/reader & software

Keep in mind, SOH as reported by an OBD reader is NOT a reflection of the true degradation in battery capacity. It's simply a combined report on various measurements from the battery. Voltage variation, max voltage, resistance, etc... Several people have noted that their SOH has gone down and then back up a month later.

Bottom line, don't read too much into the SOH metric. Personally, I look at the % of battery used for known commutes to determine if my battery capacity is degraded. It's not a scientific approach, more of a ball park notion. When I start using 20% for my daily commute vs my normal 15-16%, then I'll know I've lost a little. I'm at 37k miles, still using 15-16%.

Point taken however SOC is as if not more unreliable than SOH. Sometimes my SOC goes up 2% after I leave the driveway and sometimes drops 2% immediately. The reading can change depending on when was the last time I charged to 100% and when and how often I go bellow 20%-10%.. I spend most of my time between 40%-60% so my BMS can get really confused about the upper and lower limits.

My main concern is module failure not degradation.

Yeah, that's why I say it's a ball park notion. I'm not worried until I see 20% higher average usage. A single occurrence will just make me wonder what happened. Was it windy? Did the temp change drastically? So many factors affect our SOC so I keep a mental note every time I get home. How much did I use today and does it make sense?

I've started charging to 100% every other month in hopes that it helps the BMS out.

Ditto! I have driven 5 EVs since 2012 including my new 2023 Lighting Platinum for a total of 300K miles AND if there was ANY battery degradation I did NOT notice it at all.... just my 5 cents here...

Me as well. 45,000 miles and 99.5% SOH.

The fossil fuel industry is funding people to spread disinformation, the tried and true Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt strategy that has worked wll for decades to slow the transition to green solutions. This was pioneered by the sugar industry and used later by the tobacco industry.
