No, that’s a separate thing. The onboard chargers are used for AC charging that caps at 19.2 kW for the ER.

DC fast charging bypasses the truck’s onboard chargers and pipes voltage directly to the battery from the external charger. The ER charges faster because it’s got a bigger battery that can handle peak current for longer. I think the peak charging rates are relatively close, though.
So we just need to wait for solid state batteries :) Thanks for the info!

I have to relocate for work, going to be moving me, the dog, and what I can fit in the bed from Florida to the Mojave Desert. I am really banking on having Tesla access, Bluecruise 1.3, and integrated Android Auto by June, it would really make things easier!

I recommend that you don’t expect anything then you won’t get disappointed. Learn to work with what is, not with what might be. Then if something happens that makes your life easier you will be pleasantly surprised.

My money says Tesla sticks with the Magic Dock only setup. They will be activated only through Fordpass or (insert other proprietary EV software here). That way they can ALWAYS control how many chargers at each site are available to non-Tesla people, and reserve as many of their fastest and best chargers for their own clients as they like. Oh, and also they get the government money. There is no way to lose!

The last thing they want is for some cheap Chinese adapter to melt and start a fire at a Tesla branded charging facility. News at 11!
The only way they can make their network available in the timeframe Ford and Telsa have agreed to would be allow charger authentication via the Ford Pass app. The Open Charge Point Protocol allows for charger authentication via the cloud. Allowing authentication = a few months of integration testing, adding Magic Docks = year(s)

Nope.
Break out the credit card!!
Not a chance. Lectron makes decent hardware, but they're a budget brand that doesn't have the best reputation. We know Tesla is coming to market with their own adapter, and they have a history of providing good products at a great price. It's also the least likely to have compatibility problems.

I'm eager for an adapter, but I don't think this purchase will look good a year from now.

I pre-ordered the Lectron a while ago. Some risk but what is $200 between friends?

I pre ordered the Lectron plug as well as I thought it had a better locking design than the A2ZEV Plug. The A2ZEV has a longer exposed latch clip and I felt that if dropped has a higher risk of snapping off. I like the protected design of the latch clip on the Lectron plug. I already have a Lectron adapter for my Level 1 Tesla Charger and I'm impressed with its quality! I'm sticking with Lectron.
