I agree that nearly all mass media looks for controversy or divisiveness to attract viewers. In my opinion this divisiveness is tearing the nation apart in many ways (at least on televison). The Fox News comment is irrelevant but important for you I guess.
Most Media outlets find the more Salacious or Controversial they can pose a story or report, the more eyes and ears and mouthes will be talking about it so it's in their business interest to get those of us frustrated, disappointed, and angry even.
the above could more-or-less apply to any major asset class these daysBut the price was a financial stretch when they were first published, then the tax credit became a question mark, then prices went up, while investments went down and interest rates went up.
Pretty much, yeah.I think anyone who agrees to be mentioned by name on a story like this, should be prepared for ridicule from the public. In my case, I was willing to buy a $78,000 truck, with a $7,500 rebate, plus tax. Now that it's a $90,000 truck with no rebate, I'm not going to.
Public perspective - "So, Mr. Richie Rich, you can afford to spend nearly $80,000 on a truck that WE THE PEOPLE help you pay for with a tax credit, but when we don't BAIL YOU OUT, you won't pay $90,000?"![]()

Yes, this is way more money than I ever thought that I would pay for a vehicle, but nobody forced me to do it. This is the first vehicle that I was willing to spend this kind of money to have. Would I have preferred an Extended Range Pro trim level? Absolutely, but in the end I chose to drop $80k on the vehicle that was available.I do not understand one thing. People have been paying this kind of money for tahoes, sequoias, expeditions and even f-150. Now all of the sudden it becomes a lot of money because it is an EV.
If you have a 22 Lightning, you have one in less than 8000 vehicles of the first Truck EV ever
made by ford….
This Truck is already a collectible item! Aside from that that, this is the best vehicle I ever owned.

Think about 30 years from now, when we have the next asset bubbleThat, and $80,000, will get you one.
If you think that down the road having a year 1 Lightning will command a premium, you're mistaken. Maybe the 1st produce, but otherwise - no.
Can't argue with your conclusion. We enjoy our 2022 Mach-E.Think about 30 years from now, when we have the next asset bubble
But to me it is worth more than 80k because I cannot replace it. The 23s do not even have all the options I have and they are 8k more.
I would have never entertained the idea of dropping this kind of money for a vehicle, but I am very happy with the whole package. Regardless of what it be worth in 2-3 years.
This comment is worth repeating. Capitalism begins with someone spending money and taking risk to offer a product. If no one likes the product, the risk taker loses his shirt. When Ford put it all into one package and set a price that I found worth it, I bought it. That is capitalism, right?
