New BlueCruise Version 1.4 - Rollout March 2025

Im taking my truck into the dealership with a list of modules that need tro be updated according to PTS and telling them to update them all. Hopefully from there I can get Blue Cruise 1.4 working as I am still on 1.0 with my 2023 Lightning.

Did they say if they would charge for the updates?

They did not. But I’m taking it in for its 20,000 mile service and for them to specifically use TSB25-2105 to update all modules that have updates available since my truck had the Apple CarPlay issue where it connects with no audio and it takes a disconnect and then a reconnect to get audio back. This should allow them to “warranty” the update process for at least 6.5 billable hours. There’s a couple other TSBs I found in the PTS system so that will only extend the work but allow them more hours of warranty work since I have the extended warranty on my truck. Shouldn’t cost me anything and if they try to bill me for the work I’ll go right to the owner of the dealership since he’s a friend of mine.

Just picked up my ‘23 Lariat ER from dealership after bringing it in for TSB25-2105 - owned it for a year and have had persistent Apple CarPlay disconnecting issues. I was really hoping this would get my BC updated too. Service write up says they checked all modules and only the IPMA needed update which they did. Still no BC 1.4, though. It’s super frustrating. Last update was the window update in March.

If they updated the IPMA, you have the BC 1.4 software and can enable the BC 1.4 features with FORScan. The dealer does not have the ability to do that yet.

Is the forum sample size too small considering the amount of ice/ev trucks that Ford sells?

Is the OTA still rolling out and forum members just haven’t been lucky enough to receive it?

How many vehicles are updated a day? Does Ford have the updates rolling out 24/7 or is it just Thursdays like we joke about on here?

I still don’t understand why any update isn’t available over WiFi and how that will save Ford money instead of paying for the data to download it via a cell tower.

In regards to the wifi, yes it does download via wifi, but its hit or miss. I see the downloads myself on the router level, so I know its an update. However others state that it never happens to them.

That was the FNV4 team that was developing a whole new architecture. Different folks.

It is believed to download through the modem as part of the authentication process. The only OTA's that require wifi to download are a select few that only update configuration and not firmware itself.

I just got the BC 1.4 update too. Ironically I saw it when I sat down in my truck with my laptop and Forscan ready to enable. Timing is everything!
