Instrument panel now shows navigation for Google Maps?

I am not sure what happened yesterday, however today now Google Maps shows navigation on the IP.

I only saw this for Apple Maps, but now for Google Maps.

My most recent OTA is BC 1.4, and I use the navigation every weekend. This is the first time using Google maps that it did this and I consider my phone and truck up to date.

Waze (a google product) does not show navigation instructions in the instrument panel.

Ok all: Martin Rebuilds posted that the Android / Google Maps was the best routing / charging map integration for our truck. I'm an iPhone user connecting with CarPlay and my Google maps didn't integrate as deeply as Apple Maps with our truck. Does the new integration with the dash also mean that we are getting state of charge data into Google Maps so that we, too, can use it for routing?

I’ll check this out later when I drive. Does Ford do “silent” updates that we are not notified about? Sometimes I get in the truck and the “my view” screen on the driver screen has changed, but no update announced anywhere.

The only thing I can think of is that Google "fixed" a bug that allowed to be seen on the F150L, but if others have already had this, then I dunno.

All I know for certain is that it never did that before, and now it does... lol

I posted a few months ago that Waze was supposed to, but wasn’t. Patiently waiting…

You stated you have iPhone. When using iPhone Previously (at least for 2022 model) the Instrument panel arrows showed on iPhone with Apple Maps but not Google Maps nor Waze.

What others are referring to is the instrument panel arrows did always show up for Android users using Google Maps, but not iPhone users.

If google maps is now displaying on Instrument panel with iPhone that is indeed a new thing.

I'm on iPhone with Waze user which does not show on Instrument panel, so hopefully it comes that way as well since it is a Google product, but I will give it a try on Google maps to test as well.
