I agree with the previous poster saying it's sketchy and return it.

I ordered an LX6Z-7P155-U from the listing below. Says it's new OEM, and it looks new. Has the FoMoCo. I don't see that part # anywhere on the item, but I see PZ1P-7P155-AC.

Yeah. They are selling the PZ1P and calling it the LX6Z. I returned the one I bought from them for that reason.

Just saw your other post about this. Did this one not work? It's confusing going through all these posts.

What did you end up buying?

I'm in no hurry as I'm waiting for my manionmakes order that's still like a month out.

Thanks.

It depends on what you want. That part is non motorized, but it works and has ambient lighting. If you wanted motorized, you're better off returning it and waiting for one to pop up.

I bought a LX6Z-7P155-A, I havent received it yet, so idk what the features are. But it popped up after the report that the OEM LX6Z was motorized. I plan on posting here tomorrow once I have a chance to plug it in.

I'm messaging the seller now to see what they say about this. I'll look for your update on the other part number before I make a decision whether to return it or not.

They'll tell you its interchangable. They brushed me off, but it was easy to return.

I just received my LX6Z-7P155-U from eBay. What is troubling to me is that I do not see FoMoCo stamped on the part, or the actual part number for that matter. It looks like they have been scratched out.

I am going to attach the eBay listing I purchased from along with an image of the part. Maybe someone can confirm they purchased from the same seller and installed without any issues. I am hesitant to even install it.

I am in the same boat as UncleTony. I feel like I want a motorized dial with an illuminated base/ring. However, I am having some trouble locating that.

The pics on their listing look like the Chinese clones (note the diamond pattern on the back). Is that what they sent?

I will definitely get you more pics of the part tomorrow. Short answer off the top of my head is yes, I believe so.

what bothers me is that I have seen these parts with the diamond pattern on the back, yet still stamped with FoMoCo. So I figured I’d give it a shot.

Im not 100% that the diamond pattern is an indicator of the knockoffs. I've seen a good amount of them from wrecked cars on ebay. They also have the Ford stamping and stickers which the knockoffs probably wouldn't have.

Granted wrecked cars could have them installed. I wouldnt expect all the OEM marking and OEM stickers on them if they were fakes.

Example (From a ford dealership): https://ebay.us/m/YTsIC1

I see that now. The key seems to the lack of Ford stickers or markings. It looks like all the clones have the diamond but not all diamond patterns are clones.

One other point of confusion here is that Ford will put a stock number on the box but the part itself is stamped/stickered with a different part number. The BMS sensor thread talked about the system Ford uses and how there are different numbers associated with the same part.

And then there are sellers like you and I bought from that say it’s a LX7Z—U but an PZIP--EG shows up. Could be a stock number vs. a part number though???

Here are those additional pics of the part I promised. I tried to take them with as much daylight bleeding in to aid in visibility.

if you look real close to the scratched out section, I can make out a Z and P. It shows up better on the first picture I posted.

I'll have to take a picture of the one I have installed in my truck once I get it back out to see if any of the remaining numbers match. But my guess is that you got a PZ1P-7P155. I saw the Z last night. But wasnt 100% sure.

Based on what you and I are seeing, would you attempt plugging it in? The seller had quite a few of them and sold out at that price. Plus, their rating is really good, so I felt that they are pretty reputable. I'm always worried about the "what if"? I don't want to cause any irreversible damage. I have pretty decent knowledge when delving into vehicle modification. This is my first EV however, and while I purchased the OBD Link CX based on recommendations, I have not had to use it. I also have not downloaded or familiarized myself with ForScan yet.

I don't see any reason to be cautious, it looks like an OEM shifter. It may just be a scrap yard pulling them from multiple cars and scratching the numbers out so they can sell them all as the same part. The only thing is that you'll have to pull your center console apart twice if you decide you don't want it.

The Lightning isn't much different than the ICE in terms of interior electronics.

Im not sure. The last character seems to be a revision number. But the two shifters I have gotten so far had a ford parts sticker that matched what was stamped on the body of the shifter.

Got the same exact response from the eBay seller today:

"Hello Dear,
This product has several interchange numbers, and the one you received is the same model. The part number on the piece may differ due to these interchange references. If you are not satisfied, you can return it without any problem. We are here to assist you."

Once you post further info about your part I'll probably return this. I'm leaning towards motorized (that's what's in the 2021 Ford Edge I inherited from my father -- now my son's car).
