I hope so. I just posted in the other thread my bar was replaced on Tuesday. They finally covered the part but I still paid 200 for laborI sure hope Ford makes those that had to pay for their repairs whole.

I would take this recall notice directly to the dealer and ask them to fix it. They should be able to issue a refund after tracking the recall.Sooooooo….I just paid to replace my light bar with this exact defect. Is a reimbursement in order?
I am on my third replacement light bar.If you read the recall carefully it talks about the backup lights flickering or failing.
I did have the light bar replaced under the previous recall , even though it had not shown any water intrusion up to that point.
Interested to see what the end result is here.

Recall reimbursements will come directly from Ford and the official mailed recall notice will have instructions on how to submit a claim.I would take this recall notice directly to the dealer and ask them to fix it. They should be able to issue a refund after tracking the recall.
The wording of the recall notice that says the lightbar "may not have been installed correctly" suggests that the part is fine but the way the dealers were instructed to replace it was inadequate to prevent water intrusion. Due to the nature of the part it may require sealing engagement with the body or other component to prevent water from getting in. That's just a guess though. In my opinion the light bar is a vendor issue. It is not an installation issue, otherwise the factory and the dealer installed the light bar improperly.
My guess and your guess could be correct. This started from the factory and it continues to present. The wording of the recall notice that says the lightbar "may not have been installed correctly" suggests that the part is fine but the way the dealers were instructed to replace it was inadequate to prevent water intrusion. or more likely the instructions were good but the techs ignored them. The wording of the recall notice that says the lightbar "may not have been installed correctly" suggests that the part is fine but the way the dealers were instructed to replace it was inadequate to prevent water intrusion. yeah, just noticed that too. need to take mine in for a 20,000 checkup (tire rotation) anywayLooks like they have a new lightbar campaign? I've not noticed any issues with mine since having the first recall addressed.

For what it's worth.... I was thinking about that and now I am going to take my truck somewhere else for tire rotation, I dont want to risk the dealer claiming they "inspected" anything before my Light bar inevitably fails and I can get it replaced under the recall "inspection"yeah, just noticed that too. need to take mine in for a 20,000 checkup (tire rotation) anyway
Makes sense. You might also be able to tell them not to perform the recall. I did that for the first one each time the truck went in they'd tell me it had an open one and I'd just ask them to not perform that recall. When it finally started taking on water I had it done. For what it's worth.... Too risky for my blood... a lot harder for them to forget and accidentally do it if they dont have the opportunity.Makes sense. You might also be able to tell them not to perform the recall. They won’t be able to complete the recall until Ford publishes the fix which is indicated to be Q1 2026.For what it's worth.... You are probably correct but the verbiage is triggering red flags for me.... Why do you need a fix for an inspection? They won’t be able to complete the recall until Ford publishes the fix which is indicated to be Q1 2026.
