This just started and it’s pissing me off. I try to turn on climate controls and it just spins for a minute and then gives a warning ⚠ symbol for a second.

It works sometimes but almost 95% of the time it doesn’t anymore.

I’ve deleted the app, reassigned my phone as a key, deleted my phone and readded.

Ford is so bad at software I swear to god. I love the new design in the app but what’s the point if it doesn’t work

Software across the board is literally the only thing I regret about this truck.

It's possible your 12v battery is low, and the system has shutdown non-essential modules (the modem needed for this communication) to maintain charge to be able to start the truck.

So it should tell me that then. I drive this thing daily including a couple hundred miles yesterday.

Why isn’t it communicating this stuff to me?

But thank you for a possible explanation, I’ll get it checked out.

I wish I could answer that for you. I'm seeing the same lately, with the colder temps, when I skip a day of driving my truck.

I agree with your theory. My 12 volt battery is approaching 3 years and I've been getting the 'saving battery warning.' My Climate Control from the app has been taking much longer to start also, sometimes timing out like the OP mentioned. I've started to try to unlock or lock the doors to 'wake things up', and in my mind it seems to have helped. Getting 12v battery replaced in the next month.

This has been ticking me off for the last few weeks. It's freezing cold out and I can't remote start the heat. My 12V battery is two-months old.

Then maybe it is an app or software glitch. I noticed it with my 12v battery issues so I was hoping that was the link.

Even when my truck is plugged in at home it doesn't work lately. I have to go out and open and close the drivers side door first. Then it beeps at me and fires up the heat. So odd.

What version of Ford App are you running 6.4.0, 6.4.1 or 6.5.0?

Have you tried switching off your phones wifi and using the cellular signal to test the malfunction?

It's amazing how they have this big giant battery but can't keep the little ol 12v happy. There should never be an instance of the truck deep sleeping if the hvb has sufficient charge. They already supposedly have the logic there to charge it but for some reason chose 40% for 48 hours or < 30% as the threshold before sending the 300W.

I’m at 6.5.0. My Climate hasn’t worked at all today. With or without wifi turned on my phone.

Although I just turned on the Climate on my wife’s Mach e with the app. So that points to the truck.

It appears you're on iphone, I can't explain for the life of me why the app sucks and/or takes forever, but I've had really good luck with the one click shortcut I made. I'll post the link but mods can remove it if it's against a rule.

You may have to modify it for your vehicle name in the app.

Edit: For whatever reason it is both faster and more reliable than opening the app and doing it, even though it relies on the app. If you want to extend the timer, just push it again after the truck started message appears. It's happened to me once, but I received the truck started message, walked outside and it wasn't started. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
