This just started and it’s pissing me off. I try to turn on climate controls and it just spins for a minute and then gives a warning ⚠ symbol for a second.

It works sometimes but almost 95% of the time it doesn’t anymore.

I’ve deleted the app, reassigned my phone as a key, deleted my phone and readded.

Ford is so bad at software I swear to god. I love the new design in the app but what’s the point if it doesn’t work

Software across the board is literally the only thing I regret about this truck.

The other night the app said there had been too many requests for remote heating and refused to accept another one!

What the fudge!

Stubborn as a mule but not half as smart!

It didn't give me that nice colorful triangle/exclamation point symbol though, just the rude message of refusal

If it locks me out of an airlock and calls me Dave, I'm going to start to worry!

PS: my truck is always on a 12v battery maintainer, so this is likely a rude server error - I'm not leaving a tip!

PPS: I had pushed extend the heating time at least once, so I guess I deserved the reprimand?

I've been having the same issue. I had mine plugged in and charged to 100% over the weekend here in Atlanta in the event of a power outage from the freezing rain (if a squirrel farts in my neighborhood the power goes out). I went to start the climate while it was still plugged in, sitting at 100% and it was like it was in deep sleep.

When I went out to the truck the chime was the default chime and not the software chime.

Made me think it was the 12V battery too, but if we're all having the same issue...are all of our 12V systems the problem or is it a software glitch?

But now I just looked at the posts of us who are having the issue and it looks like we all have 2023 or older Lightnings... is it remotely possible that our 12V systems are going bad at the same time??

My app wasn't up to date, but is now. Maybe that was the issue. I'll have to try later today after work.

Not mine -always on a maintainer and no symptoms of weak or failing 12v system so far.

I agree with your theory. My 12 volt battery is approaching 3 years and I've been getting the 'saving battery warning.' My Climate Control from the app has been taking much longer to start also, sometimes timing out like the OP mentioned. I've started to try to unlock or lock the doors to 'wake things up', and in my mind it seems to have helped. Getting 12v battery replaced in the next month.
I just ordered the fomoco battery for mine on Monday. Supposed to be here today. Got it on rock auto. Was like $139 if I remember correctly. Not a bad deal.

My 12v is from November 2024 so I would hope it’s fine but I’ll test it or see about getting a new one.

This appeared to start after a truck software update at the very beginning of the month though fwiw. And my iOS app is up to date but still has the issue

I’ll echo the previous commenter that it doesn’t work when plugged in and at 100% either, meanwhile I can still lock and unlock no problem.

So personally I’m leaning towards the truck update having a bug with the climate system remote functionality but I’m only a man

Edit: and mine’s a 2022 Lariat so it seems to be a thing across all year models

Mine did not work today either. Has worked every day for the past week with no problems. Maybe today it's a just doesn't want to work day, like I didn't. Haha

Have had this same issue lately, seems to be very much in line with getting the 11.x updates. App says and confirms remote climate is on, and then get into the truck and absolutely nada.

Same issue yesterday for me as well.
App is 6.5 Android, truck has all the latest a greatest updates, LVB is good (resting voltage around 12.5-12.8V).

For me the climate function would fail, but lock/unlock worked, so I just jotted it down to some glitch in the Matrix and hope it'll work another day.

I have had a concern for the functionality of the heated seats adjustment button for current and many prior versions of Ford App / Pass, it's 50/50 chance that the settings will be the same after "Starting" the truck.

I've tried leaving the Sync settings as automatic or last used, doesn't matter with regard to that.

It's also as unpredictable using departure timer or remote-climate start button.

First world problems, but if you have a function, make it work as animated.

I probably shouldn't write this as to jinx myself, but after having issues with Climate the past week, since yesterday afternoon it's worked consistently (still takes 30+ seconds but works). I don't think I've gotten any updates on the truck, and I haven't done anything different. It's worked at both home and at work, and it's been very cold. Don't understand why now it's working, but I'll stop complaining I guess.

Hoping it was just a ghost in the Ford Servers....
